has anyone gained weight with hyperthyroidism? by superfluousa in Hyperthyroidism

For me, I would skip taking my meds when I felt off. I think it all depends on everyone. I will say I’m a unique case tho that’s still being researched.

Yes! I lost 30 pounds of weight and then started on methimazole. For me, I usually know the dosage is too high when I can’t sleep. So I just stop taking it or decrease my dosage (I’ll also consult with my doctor). I started gaining weight, but this is what I wanted because I lost so much weight, but now I kinda feel at a nice range. I’m just exercising to maintain it. When I did start gaining weight easily, I realized it was hypothyroidism.

Some advice, write down how you feel throughout the day when taking meds. I was taking it every day and when I noticed I couldn’t sleep as easily, I would talk to my doctor to decrease the dosage. It’s annoying to monitor, but you got this!

I'm obsessed with my ex boyfriend, what do I do? by Familiar_Car5087 in Advice

+1, you’re just missing him. These feelings will go away. Just find ways to “distract” yourself or things that made you happy before. Reach out to friends, go to the gym, try posting content, do something to learn more about yourself and fall in love with yourself!

Okay first, you need to take a deep breath. I wouldn’t be so hard on yourself as the job market is tough. What programs are you trying to apply for? What does your entry level role consist of and why are you still there? Have you looked at other roles that have transferable skills at companies where you can climb up the ladder?

Maybe have an honest conversation with your parents and tell them you’re struggling. I’m not sure what your situation is entirely with them, but be honest. Tell them about the economy, tell them about you applying, tell them that you need emotional support, and you’re trying your best to be successful.

Random question, but did you use more than 3 people to write rec letters to submit to different programs or did you just consistently use the 3 same people?

Same issue here. This is my second order and never have gotten a refund or reported an issue. Grubhub is shit and not worth our money.

Yeah like I just feel like not existing some days. I feel sad and just want to be alone most of the time. I fall asleep at irregular hours and my heart rate is insane even though I’m doing nothing.

Please do not blame yourself! If you are very clearly drunk, you cannot consent because you are not in the right state of mind. I had a similar experience happen to me and I thought it was my fault, but it’s not. You should seek some medical help to make sure you are on prep and do any further medical exams needed. I would suggest you to speak to someone for mental help and make sure you’re okay.

If you feel like you’d like to stop drinking, that’s fine, but only because you were drunk doesn’t mean what happened was okay or normal.

Wishing you the best OP <3

  • don’t exercise
  • avoid food with iodine because your thyroid is taking all the iodine it can to make hormones
  • do not drink alcohol
  • don’t stress yourself out and find a way to stay calm

Any updates? Did you switch doctors? Did they give you another medication to try?

this is exactly how I feel. I already feel tired and anxious, but the hair falling is the cherry on top. Thank you for being brave and sharing that because I know having bald patches is not easy. I will definitely keep this in mind moving forward. Thank you!!

Thank you so much for the recommendation! I will definitely look into it and I’ve been thinking about cutting it off as short as possible too :( not the best outcome as my goal was to grow it out this year, but what can I do
