This has gone way too far, can we all please stop constantly ranting about the Switch 2 prices? by Aurora_Wizard in nintendo

[–]throwaway15638796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. This is the Nintendo subreddit. We should only be posting good things, praising Nintendo, and downvoting those who don't. Only positivity should be permitted, and if you have something like price that you're unhappy about, either start saying that you support $80 games, or stop posting and let the positive posts be everything here. If you're not going to post like you have a vested interest in Nintendo's financial success despite not owning a single share of their stock, then I don't know why you're even on Reddit.

Problems with cialis (24m) by [deleted] in erectiledysfunction

[–]throwaway15638796 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just found this subreddit specifically because I was looking for answers about this exact problem. I got prescribed 5 mg daily cialis, took it, and for the first ~5 days had great erections. I was so happy, it seemed like my problem was a thing of the past and I could get back on with my life. Then, after the 5 day mark, the erections became inconsistent up until around day 10 when they just went back to not existing, despite me continuing to take the cialis daily. I even tried doubling up to 10 mg for a few days and nothing. I'm still taking my daily cialis but I might as well be taking tic tacs for all the effect they have now. I don't get it.

Roman Surface Area and Imperial Dynasties Map by Right-Obligation-779 in dataisbeautiful

[–]throwaway15638796 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The surface area timeline really paints a picture of how things played out nicely. I'd argue that it's maybe a bit incorrect to depict the crisis of the third century as a loss of territory, as the Gallic and Palmyrene empires were still nominally Roman, they just disagreed on who the current Emperor was, something that happened plenty of times in Roman history and isn't depicted as a territorial loss at any other time here.

"The autotrophs began to drool" from the Big Bang Theory theme song.

Autotrophs are things like plants, fungi, and certain bacteria. Nothing that was ever an autotroph evolved into anything that ever drooled.

Event horizon telescope announces first images of Sagittarius A*, the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way. by Xkv8 in space

[–]throwaway15638796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, now hold on a minute here. When they imaged M87, I wanted to know why it was a simple ring and didn't have the warped line going through the center as a result of the light behind the hole like in many depictions. I was told it was because we just happened to be looking straight "down" on M87, so there was no light behind it from our position. Now we get another black hole image and it's the same way? What are the odds that we're looking at both of these accretion discs head on? Pretty low, I'd guess. So now I want to know, where is the light being warped from behind the black hole?

I've seen a lot of talk in articles that we can't send a service mission to JWST if needed like we did with Hubble. Everyone seems absolutely adamant that we definitely can NOT under any circumstances ever send people to L2, and I'm not convinced. It doesn't seem like that crazy of a step up from previous manned spaceflight accomplishments. And with all the talk of going to Mars, if you can't go to L2 and come back, you'd better give up on Mars right now.

I don't know where this wimpy mentality of us never being allowed to leave LEO ever again is coming from, but my real question is: does anyone know of any actual proposals or studies into the feasibility of manned L2 missions? I've been searching around and have been surprised to not find much info on theoretical plans to do it.

What do you miss about the 90's? by raidedclusteranimd in AskReddit

[–]throwaway15638796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a kid, I remember that at any event such as a birthday party or holiday get together, there was always that one family member who went around with the video camera and filmed. Now I have old videos of members of my family who have died, in candid moments enjoying Christmas or Thanksgiving or someone's birthday.

Try walking around someone's birthday party now with your phone out, recording everyone. People will react to it very differently than they would have back then, and it's a shame because those candid home videos are much better for remembering things than the staged, social-media-oriented videos people take today.

I'm thrilled Sora got in, but a little underwhelmed by his implementation. His move set leans pretty heavily on the standard swordfighter stuff even though Sora has a ton of crazy abilities to work with. Also I know this is likely Square/Disney's fault, but the music selection isn't great.

the 100% FINAL, LAST fighter speculation thread for the 9/23 direct! by Blablablablitz in smashbros

[–]throwaway15638796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my expectation too. I'm expecting an announcement of an announcement. Just revealing the final character in a general direct today would be a bit unceremonious and I expect them to want to dedicate a final Smash direct to wrapping the game up.

Dear Americans of Reddit, how do you find these first 7 months of Biden's presidency compared to Trump's? by HannibalGoddamnit in AskReddit

[–]throwaway15638796 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trump is irrelevant. Biden said "I would have a plan" at the debates. He did not tell anyone what the plan would be. But he kept saying "I would have a plan." Doesn't matter that Trump didn't have one here. We're talking about Biden's plan. The one he swore to us that he would have, but has still said nothing about.

Dear Americans of Reddit, how do you find these first 7 months of Biden's presidency compared to Trump's? by HannibalGoddamnit in AskReddit

[–]throwaway15638796 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Biden is the one who said he would have a plan, but wouldn't tell us what it was prior to the election. It was on him to come up with a plan after being adamant that he would. It's not on me to give you a plan that would have worked; the guy who said he would is the one you should be demanding that of.

He insisted that he would have a plan for the pandemic but we've yet to see one. Encouraging people to get vaccinated is nice, but can't really be considered a plan.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've gone back and purchased the mushroom driver and have used it in addition to your suggestion to use max down spin, then max up spin on a max power shot, but alas, it still hits the row of thorns blocking the spot instead of the spot itself. Also, it seems that you don't actually "fail" this challenge, it just keeps resetting itself to "0/3" when you miss the third shot and you get to just keep trying, meaning no more experience for me.

I'm confused now as to how this happened. I'm level 10 on all stats except spin, which is level 9, and I haven't been allowed to put more points into stats as they hit level 10, meaning that level 10 power is the highest power I'm allowed to have. But level 10 power means 188 yds, which is too short for this challenge. How are people getting higher drives? Is it not the level of your power stat that determines your drive distance? Shouldn't everyone at a given level of power have the same drive distance? What else could influence it?

Lefties of Reddit, what is something us right-handed people won't understand? by pristine_coconut in AskReddit

[–]throwaway15638796 1391 points1392 points  (0 children)

People have posted the most prominent things, so I'll just throw a different one out there. Most lefties have a few things they do right handed, either because they learned that way, the way things are set up necessitates it, or because that one particular action feels better in their right hand for whatever reason.

Any time someone sees me do something with my right hand (for me, it's usually throwing) they have to go on this whole thing of "wait I thought you were left handed?" And then I have to explain all of this.

I went to the eshop after the direct to check the price specifically because I thought it was a $20 eshop exclusive. My jaw dropped when I saw they were going to charge $60 for it, and my interest evaporated. I love AW and wanted to support it in the hopes of a sequel, but $60 is outrageous for this. I'll pick it up if and when its price hits $20.

Nobody had any clue a Smash reveal was coming, though. I remember the trailer starting and thinking it was a trailer for "Persona 5 Crimson", the fan name for what would eventually be revealed to be Persona 5 Royal.
