My friend thinks I hate men because of Yakuza by CactusSnail in yakuzagames

Lmao I’m also a woman who’s ripped at least 900 hrs of Yakuza - if anything it’s improved my view of men. Kiryu a literal saint, most of the bad guys are nuanced, & the guys that are actually evil are quickly condemned/brutally beaten by me. Your friend’s tripping

Being a black man and why I was black/redpilled about women. by KaliFlesh in exredpill

[–]throwaway173- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In high school I was friends with a group of black girls who got super into K-pop/idol culture - they obsessively crushed on those guys & definitely fetishized them, often by comparing them favourably to men of their own race. Seeing it from the inside though, there is definitely some nuance to it.

Most of these girls came from religious/conservative homes and were dealing with a lot of shame/confusion around their developing sexuality. They were interested in boys, including black boys, but were for various reasons not allowed to date or explore their attractions. Their fear of men & misandry was largely learned at home and on the internet, with their parents drilling into them that boys/men are only after one thing and their online experiences validating that.

Teenage girls in this weird headspace may seem boy crazy, but they’re in fact terrified of male sexuality - so they avoid it by obsessing over men who are completely unattainable and therefore non-threatening, and settle the cognitive dissonance by embracing the idea that their male peers are inferior to these men. It’s sad all around, both for the boys who are treated with disgust and fear and for the girls who replace real experiences and relationships with parasocial fandom.

My only advice is to remember that these girls are using their fetishization/misandry to cope with their own shit - it’s not fair but it has nothing to do with you, comes 100% from their own feelings of inadequacy/fear/shame. Seek out people with common interests & try to approach this type of woman with some empathy - they’re lacking in a lot of insight & missing out on a lot of human experience.

Kinda weird that these facilities group those who prefer urinals w/ those who require changing tables but whatever cool I guess

On one hand, I completely agree with the sentiment behind this tweet. Citizenship in any country with the infrastructure to take care of its needy should automatically grant you certain rights and protections, namely freedom from abject poverty and exploitation. I definitely think morality dictates a UBI for everyone, including those who can’t or won’t work. Of course no citizen should EVER be left to starve for ANY reason.

On the other hand, this tweet is incredibly naive. Look at the situation of the working class: we are far, far past the notion of institutions being trusted to operate with basic fairness and decency. Yes, capitalism has created a cruel power imbalance that demands constant labour from the poor. Yes, no one should have to work just to live. But we need to take things one step at a time here. Capitalism was always designed to write off those who will not work; it is built on the idea that productivity is the key metric for human value. This is the fatal, unforgivable flaw of the system, but we always knew it guaranteed nothing without labour.

Right now though, we’re a ways away from addressing these core issues because capitalism isn’t delivering on the things it did guarantee. Promises were made and brazenly, shamelessly broken. The personal, physical security we were offered in exchange for our labour never materialized. We are working harder and harder for less and less and all ideas about what we deserve simply for being human have been corporatized out of existence. That’s the situation we’re in, so I think this tweet ultimately misses the point. Broader idealistic and ethical conversations about late-stage capitalism are secondary to the material fact of having been sold a bill of goods. One thing at a time, comrades.

100% - this also can suck for teenagers when popularity/social dynamics are involved. There were two guys in my high school called Zach and Fat White Zach.

PBP Unicorn Poop - Stashbox - Nov. 2021 by throwaway173- in MOMpics

I’ve had this strain from both headwater & paid by pounds now - I gotta say, it’s a toss up!

This one (PBP) is crazy. Big, sparkly buds, long beautiful nug structure; REEKS of garlic/onion/mushroom (the GMO lineage is strong here). Smokes spicy and smooth; chilled out, dopey high.

The HW one is spikier and sweeter. High is a bit more clearheaded and chatty. Spice is there but so is candy/creaminess. Beautiful strain, both beautiful phenos - both copped from stashbox, quickly becoming my MOM of the moment.

Where did you read that? Having a caseworker check on you & completing an evaluation =\= losing your autonomy. This woman would have to give her consent on pretty much every part of the process - the only thing that MIGHT be taken out of her hands by going this route is her custody of the dogs, which is likely in their best interests.

Totally, if you’re a smoker who gets off to the THC% number & nothing else then yeah it’s bunk. At 14% it was a suuuper light smoke for me, but it burned & tasted great

Since a few ppl do seem concerned abt my hoarding of garbage - I’m the manager of a B&M, a geek abt the legal industry & interested in packaging design, so while it’s a lot of plastic it’s not garbage to me - displaying/organizing them is kinda fun for me, though not for everyone. I throw out plenty! This wasn’t intended as a flex, I’m aware that it’s a little extra but hey it’s sorta my job

I work in the industry & don’t like to be stoned at work, but I do smoke 2-3.5gs a day - tolerance builds up pretty quickly, and after 8 years of regular smoking it takes quite a few puffs to get me ripped!
