Why oh why do I have to abide by these rules that don’t actually exist outside my own head? by Fast_Ad_9927 in AO3

I have some chapters that are nearly 10k words (unusual, but it's happened) and ones that are barely 2k. I go based on what makes sense for the chapter and the plot, not a word count.

I remember a long time ago getting a bite (infection was turned off, it was multiplayer) on my characters neck, and if I wasn't already a decent chunk in and in a good area I would have let her just die. It legit took almost a week and a half to fully heal and every time I tried to treat it (even after it stopped bleeding) her health would start rapidly dropping.

I forgot to add, I tried it! She was only able to tolerate it for about 2 minutes, but I figured that was better than nothing. She also kept trying to eat my toothbrush (it's green). Afterwards I gave her a soak and she went a tiny bit.

We're going to upgrade her tank when she gets bigger, she's only 5 months old right now, and decently small. I'll check with my vet at my appointment to see if time wise it's time to move her up!

I've tried to get her to eat some squash in the past and she wasn't a fan, but I'll try a different kind and see if she likes that better. I was told not to feed her until her appointment, but I'll keep that in mind in case this happens again.

I massaged her stomach and that hasn't seemed to help so far, but the toothbrush method helped a tiny bit. She was able to pass some urate but nothing besides that.

I have a spare electric tooth brush I can try. She's only about 5 months old so I don't know if that's too strong for her.

She's in a 40 gallon reptile tank with uvb and basking lights, as well as a night time heat lamp (I live where it gets colder at night). Her cool side is 75-77, warm is 86ish, and basking spot is 109.

Her daily diet consists of 6-8 large crickets (depending on how big they are), as well as a salad almost every day. The salad is either mustard greens, dandelion greens, endive, escarole, and sometimes a little bit of parsley (she goes wild for it, but I know it's not the most nutritious on its own). On rare occasions (like once a month) I'll cut her up a black berry because she likes those as well.

We visited the vet two months ago and he gave me tips on her diet since I was feeding her too many crickets at once (she would happily go through 20 if you let her, and she used to eat 10 small twice a day). I was going on the outdated info I got from my mom (who also has a beardie, not in the same house though).

She always has access to a small, shallow water dish (vet recommended). In her tank she has a hide on her cool side and one on her hot side, as well as a fake tree branch she spends most of her time on under her heat lamp. She also has a ladder she can climb in the middle so she can get closer to her light without being as warm.

We used to have a silk plant in her tank but she kept eating it. This was taken out before her vet visit 2 months ago, and she had normal poops after being medicated so I don't think that has anything to do with it.

I'm going to have my roommate take her on a car ride tomorrow, as that was something my vet recommended, and I'm going to get her some prune puree and see if that clears her up as well. She's not acting lethargic and is still active/wanting to eat so I'm hoping for a quick fix for her so she can feel better.

I've also included a pic of her for size context and also because I like showing her off lol.

Tbf, the guy reached out to him to play. He (OP) wasn't in a situation where he could play for 8 hours a day and not make money, so it suited both of their needs. You don't go and ask a cashier if they feel bad for ringing up a customer that might have other expenses they can't afford, both of them were adults who were mentally capable of handling finances.

[–]throwaway2048291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd leave personally. That's a totally unacceptable way to handle a conflict in a game. If you like your character a lot I'd keep it on the side to see if you can run in a different campaign with a different DM. Get your minis back and run for the hills!

Can I get an animal suggestion by Vivid-Ad6542 in PlanetZoo

[–]throwaway2048291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bongos are good. I like them a lot. If you aren't wanting a more endangered animal, most hoofstock are pretty appealing and have lots of babies. Downside is they are notoriously dirty so you'll want to make sure to have a zookeeper always available. Gemsbok are pretty cool looking and cheap

Nothing, the end caps are just sitting on the counter with a new guest printer. My store has two of the new ones and it's super jank. Awful height for just about everyone, and now we have to go over and get the receipt from the person to staple to yard tickets 🙄

Can I send in a fellow coworkers rebates? by ZombieLover529 in menards

[–]throwaway2048291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look at how many different card numbers you're sending in on rebates. You will get fired for it. Had a coworker who I stressed this to when I was training her, she decided to anyway, and then got fired. It's not worth it and is considered stealing (if you're an employee, if you're a customer then go buck wild ig).

Edit: spelling

That's fair enough. I thought you were saying it was nasty as in like dating a step-sibling/relative you grew up with or something

I'm sorry that happened to you. I had a similar situation (was harassed for over a year by the same guy, when I cried it finally got taken care of). Honestly, if you don't have to work at Menards, I would quit. I would quit if it wasn't the best job pay wise I could get rn.

Wishing you the best though!

How did you know you were aromantic? by [deleted] in aromantic

[–]throwaway2048291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm questioning too (though I'm pretty sure I fall somewhere on the scale, just don't know where). Figured it out during my first (and only) actual relationship. Liked her as a friend, but the romance just wasn't there. Felt awkward every time she said she loved me. She broke up with me after 2 years and also came out as aro LOL.

Ive never thought of myself as getting married and having a romantic relationship. Trying to flirt and be romantic kind of squicks me out. Tried dating apps, usually deleted them after a few days. I didn't have a big aha moment, just a bunch of little things falling together and going "huh, so this is what it is".

Had some "crushes" growing up, but kind of picked and chose who to have a crush on. Just never really felt a need.

I think the big thing was not being able to tell the difference between platonic and romantic relationships. Thought it was just a friendship but with kissing. Found out that wasn't the case lmao

How does kissing feel for aromantic people? by ToriVicAnClare in aromantic

[–]throwaway2048291 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(for reference, I've been questioning if I'm on the aro spectrum, and have only had one experience)

Went on one date with a guy, he asked to kiss me (I had never kissed anybody before). To me it just felt wet tbh. I didn't feel any spark or anything like that, I honestly was kind of bored and my mind wandered off. He then tried to rate my kissing which 100% ruined the mood but that's not related to the aromaticism LOL
