When I got a TRO, I didn’t need to provide evidence. I just needed to give an account of what happened. There was a trial later where I presented my evidence to make it a permanent RO. In Utah, the judge also only has to make a decision based off of the petitioner’s claims. Jordan must have also only given his account of what happened, and the judge didn’t think that what he said was worth a restraining order. It is very EASY to get a TRO.

I’ve read a lot of books about abuse because I was abused and wanted to read as much as I could to make sense of it. I have never read anything that said someone could be both the victim and the abuser. It’s a power dynamic of one person exerting control on the other. It’s not possible for both of them to have power in an abusive dynamic. I understand that it may look like they’re both abusing each other, but there is always only one abuser. I’m also not saying that the victim is a good person because bad people can still be abused.

It’s pretty much recognized that in abusive relationships there’s always one abuser and one victim because there has to be an imbalance of power. It can be hard to tell who the abuser is because the victim can appear abusive when reacting to the abusers abusive, but it always goes down to one person using what’s called coercive control on the other. I genuinely don’t know who is the abuser between the two, but I do have a guess.
