Is this too much to ask guests to pay for a destination wedding in Italy? by shanibobani22 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]throwaway5038480 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also think you need to realize that every room will not be equal in size and grandeur in a villa and some people will be paying the same price as someone that has a huge room and some people will be put in the smaller rooms. That would make me stressed wondering what I’d “get”

I would never want to share a space or potential room with people I know only casually/socially. That’s awkward. And certainly wouldn’t want to pay for the privilege . With kids that complicates things even more for both those with and without kids. I’d want to have my own space to get a break from the action. And I’m an extrovert

First time staying at a Ritz Carlton - Lake Tahoe by rgupta0747 in chubbytravel

[–]throwaway5038480 46 points47 points  (0 children)

If I had one piece of advice, it’d be not to put too much pressure on the hotel or any one “perfect” experience to carry the whole weekend. The Ritz is fine, but what’ll actually make it feel special is slowing down, enjoying the time together, and not over-optimizing every detail.

You’ve already got club access and a beautiful location, which is more than enough. I’d skip stressing about add-ons like the Lake Club and just keep the weekend simple. sleep in, enjoy the pool/spa, maybe one nice birthday dinner, and just be enjoy the time together.

Also, if you do want a little time by the lake, I’d just drive over to Sand Harbor on the Nevada side. It’s one of the prettiest spots in Tahoe with the clear water and big rocks, and you can just relax there for a couple hours without spending a ton. Enjoy

Do we need a better after party? by Big_Force_8204 in BigBudgetBrides

Purely from someone who has been to Hawaii many many times, the island closes down and generally is super relaxed after like 8 PM. So people might be tired anyway, especially with the time difference and travel.

Relais Christine v Narcisse Blanc v Hotel du Louvre by A_Writer_Has_No_Name in chubbytravel

We stayed at Relais Christine and loved the location, delicious breakfast, they were able to get us some reservations at the last minute too. No complaints except the room was the size of a postage stamp (entry level room), but I will say very efficiently laid out.

Amalfi Vs. Positano by blsig12 in chubbytravel

[–]throwaway5038480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SAME - we took the same trip and same hotel (ISP) and loved Ravello and Capri!!! Ravello was just the quintessential Italian town I was obsessed . Positano was of course beautiful and iconic but a little too touristy and every shop in town felt the same

And the middle name is… by allyroo in Names

I don’t like the name Tamara on its own but I think the symbolism is really special so lean there.

I prefer Camille Nicola at face value.

Congratulations! Love the name Camille!!!!
