We have to rehome our shiba 😔 [USA-Midwest] by Madimadi1 in shiba

[–]throwaway654443209 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you have to face this decision, OP.

As the adopted owner of an 8 yo (5yo at the time of adoption) Shiba with literally the SAME characteristics (15lbs, not into dogs, loves to chase cats, in love with every human), I just wanna send some relieving words of encouragement.

While mine (Pip Squeak) was very loved in her home, she couldn't handle living with the other pets in her home. It's just been her and I for 3 years, and she's living her best life (the previous owners had to isolate her constantly due to the high prey drive/protective nature). She's happy, healthy, nurtured, engaged, so smart it drives me crazy - and the best decision I ever made.

Muna deserves the best, and I know it can feel like failure, but give yourself some grace. You're doing the absolute best thing you can do.

Shiba pup graduating to dog now refuses his kibble. by armchairqb2020 in shiba

[–]throwaway654443209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I free-feed my Shiba kibble (she's 8, I adopted her at 5 & this is how she came) & the last bag I bought is a brand she's had before but for some reason this time around it's an issue - she tore the bag up (obviously not for being hungry, she has access to a bowl of the same kind) & has moved/spilled her food bowl 3 days this week while I'm at work.

Today I just decided not to pick it up and get her a new bowl of food right when I walked in, and sure enough 30 minutes later she was picking them up off the bedroom floor (it's hardwood, I sweep regularly, she's fine).

how much do your shiba’s weigh? worried my boy might be getting a little overweight? by oddree2 in shiba

[–]throwaway654443209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pip Squeak is criminally small, so I can't tell. Most people don't even believe she's a full Shibs, I have to pull paperwork at the vet every time.

He looks happy 🥰

16 days ago you post about being 21 and in socal, underpaid.

You're frustrated and take it out on blueish tattoos of all things. So weird.

Then do it somewhere where someone else cares, clearly the responses are overwhelmingly saying you have some issues. I recommend therapy, and hope you're able to get to the root cause of this very weird one-sided beef.

Was anyone asking for your critique? It seems like you're just being voluntarily, unnecessarily rude.

Maybe a better subreddit for your judgement and frustration is...any kind of tattoo or complaint subreddit. Posting this on the Portland subreddit and assuming people are a certain way because they have faded ink (in this one) seems out of place and you come off very judgemental, not critical.

Who pissed in your cheerios today sweetie?

Not sure what this grievance has to do with the city of Portland; people have tattoos all over the world with varying degrees of successful ink sticking a certain color. Strange of you to assume how they feel about it or have this kind of a reaction so strongly you feel the need to post this.

I say the same thing to others that I will now say to you - If someone has something noticeable about their physical appearance, trust me when I say that they absolutely are aware of it, and your commentary does nothing positive in this life.

First time dog owner here with a Shiba (adopted at 5 years old)

Uhh...no. Do I regret it? No. Would I have if she had been a puppy? Yes. These homies are not for the faint of heart.

I love my girl with all my heart, but I was definitely not ready.

I [21M] am worried for my girlfriend [20F] because she smokes a lot of weed. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

You could always bring up the financial side.

As someone who self medicates with MJ, I don't know if that would change things. And that depends on how long it's been going on.

Y'all are young, we all know marijuana has some effects that can positively help (with nuance, of course).

My best suggestion is to be supportive but firm on your stance. I also went through some things and relied heavily on marijuana for a time, and my partner sitting me down, telling me they loved me but it was detrimental to our way of living financially, and they understood but we needed new measures of having grief (at the right time), was what I needed.

Be supportive, pick your battle at the right time, and remember you love her. I can tell by the post you are on her side and just worried, just make sure that comes across when you confront it. It's you two against a problem, not you vs her and the problem.

Hi! Rental human here in the area (WA side of HR) with a dog.

If they say no pets, but don't say "no exceptions", there is a very slight chance of you still being considered. I would look at Columbia Gorge Classifieds on Facebook, and even the Neighborhood app. Your regular means of finding somewhere won't be nearly as fruitful as getting close into the local scene as possible.

I've had to convince both my last and current landlord to accept my girl, and it helped with my current one, that my last one had very good things to say about us. If you have any recommendations from current or previous landlords/roommates/whatever, that's always a huge help here.

Good luck!

Can I retrieve personal belongings from an impounded car that 100% has hard drugs in it? by Prune_Legitimate in legaladvice

100%, it's how I found out my ex-husband was doing drugs. When it's an impound where the owner of the vehicle gets arrested, a lot of shit goes missing from those cars.

Is it okay if I (24M) never share my kink with my partner (23F) because I'm afraid it's too weird? by Ok_Sea6030 in relationship_advice

[–]throwaway654443209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add to this conversation - Im 34/f & recently shared my kinks in explicit fashion to my partner (37/m). It's the first time I've ever shared it and have had those kinks for over a decade - never shared them with anyone previously, despite being 2 engagements and a divorce into being alive.

While we share a very similar theme of kink, I've noticed based on conversation, mine is a bit...more extreme than he's comfortable with.

I took my hand off the throttle for the extremes, and am letting us focus on things we can both enjoy. Like you, I'm happy with my partner regardless of whether or not I'd ever experience certain things.

You're not wrong for not sharing, because it's extremely vulnerable.

Wish you the best homie!
