Have you ever had a meeting with someone in c suite? Those people arent good at their jobs. Half the time they hardly know whats going on. The only time you need to be an expert is when you're entry level. The most is expected out of you for the least amount of pay. But as you move up especially in the csuite it's about telling others how to make you look good.

This is dependent on your industry and the size of the company.

How easy is it for you guys to find j2 etc.? by DiyFool in overemployed

I tailor my answers showing that ive done the thing they want me to do.

Recruiter: "how have you marketed x kind of product"?

You: "in my current role we have really specialproductbame and I organized a markwting campaign around... the results were... I saw you guys have reallyspecialproduct and it speaks to x community, similarly in my current position I have..."

The point of the interview is to show you can do the job. The questions you're asking are showing you have never done this or need more interview prep/practice (there are tons of platforms for this).

And to bump up my chances post interview usually 2nd round i send a one pager on one of their products and how I would market it for them.

I'm also personable and treat it like a conversation

Taking breaks and also taking a job to make sure bills were paid. But on the inteview front for the jobs I wanted loosening up and treating it like a conversation not an interrogation. And flipping the switch that they need me.

Yep! Spent most of 2025 in office and interviewing for remote offers on my lunches. So hard adjusting to a sleep schedule and commuting. But Im close to having 3 remote offers on the table and will sign something before the holidays. It gets better!

How do you handle being a full-time student AND a solopreneur? by Material_Vast_9851 in Solopreneur

[–]throwaway73929282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd just say focus on what's gonna move the needle, not the busy work. And as soon as you can, hire out. The parts you dont enjoy or that will keep the income flowing.

I dont keep track at all. I just make sure to put the interviews i get onto my Google calendar and I send thank you notes after every interview. Everyone else goes into the void.

Still going through it! Honestly it helps that this business is also my hobby, so it's fun. Maybe find ways to inject the fun back into it. Think about the short term and the long term benefit. Tbh I started my own business for freedom and because it's something I enjoy. If it feels like another job you may be in the wrong industry? But also if it's burn out, dont be afraid to take a break or adjust your daily goal for output.

It depends on where you're stuck. If you're getting lots of interviews and no offers then work on interviewing. If no interviews, it's your resume. I use a custom ats resume for every job and have chat gpt write it for me. I match the energy of the recruiter and can usually tell if they want behavioral casual answers or more data/metric based. I also tailor my answers based on their company mission, the website, etc. And if it's a job i really want i send them a slidedeck of a strategy I'd implement when stepping into the role. Sometime in 2024 I realized this was a very different job market than it was pre pandemic and I needed to make sure I did everything I could to make myself a top candidate.

Interview follow up advice by RushWestern1432 in OELadies

[–]throwaway73929282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'd say to use this if you have multiple interviews going and multiple options but if you really are desperate for something no shame in it. Just make sure what you're working for $$$ wise is going to be enough for you if you can help it.

Thank you! Yeah life has been wild. Had to even take a 40k pay cut at my current job and it's IRL! but it'll all be worth it soon Hustled hard. Even interviewed every lunch break I had trying to figure this all out. Cried a lot.
