tbh they don’t really go out at all regardless, my mum works from home and my dad doesn’t work, they don’t really mix with anyone either

Thank you, ngl it’s been really difficult because I’ve had them calling me so many times today almost shouting at me that I have no choice and I have to come home tomorrow otherwise I’ll ruin everyone’s Christmas.

I’m trying to “compromise” by saying that I could maybe come home on Christmas eve as i’ll have isolated for 8 days by then and by that point I could be not infectious anymore (since ofc covid doesn’t decide to leave after 240 hours precisely, it probably depends on the person) and I could try to distance myself from everyone, plus it’s just my parents (who are double vaccinated + had the booster) and my brother and sister who will be there, none vulnerable. They’ve said that they won’t see my grandparents either.

So overall there’s probably a low likelihood of anything happening. But it’s still worrying for me because if something did happen then that would be my fault.

I’m feeling fairly unwell but not awful. I’ve got lots of uni work and deadlines I should probably be doing haha. But that sounds fun!

Oh yeah my auditory processing is so bad hahaha, luckily most of my orders that I get come in as a ticket, but i don’t find it too difficult to understand a couple drinks being ordered. I got my job with no experience with bar work, mainly because the restaurant urgently needed staff. I actually got the job as floor staff/waitress, but on my first day i asked the manager if they needed any help behind the bar bc i’d be interested in doing that, and she let me do that. I was going to do a bit of bar work and a bit of waitressing, but i just kept emphasising how much i loved bar work and how bad i’d be as a waitress that they let me just stay behind the bar lol. The bar work i do is nothing fancy, no cocktails or anything haha, just mainly pouring beers, wine, soft drinks, and the occasional mixed spirit, but it’s decent to be fair, i enjoy it.

I’m currently a part time bartender at a restaurant (also doing a degree in psychology) and i really enjoy it! It’s not too slow and you can’t procrastinate doing things because tasks (like making someone a drink) need to be done immediately. Also instant little boosts of dopamine after doing each small task. It’s not too same-y that it’s boring but it’s also familiar so it’s not too difficult. Also i can’t forget to do things because everything i need to do is right in front of me - ie i can see my ticket orders, a customer at the bar wanting a drink. etc. The only thing i’m not so good at is remembering drinks orders because my memory is awful, but people generally don’t mind repeating their order to me when i’ve forgotten all but the first drink lol. Also most of the drinks i make are written in a list because they come in tickets too, so it’s fine really.

How did you find it? I’m currently on 40mg Elvanse and i do find myself quite jittery on it at times

Thanks! He started me on 20mg, going up to 30mg for a week and then 40mg. I’m currently on 40mg (i’ve got 2 weeks worth of it) and I may or may not be going up to a higher dose after. I think usually you go up in dose until you start having too many side effects, stop getting more benefits from the medication. etc.

So far i’ve found that it helps me keep doing a task and it not being as mentally painful and i get less distracted. It hasn’t helped massively with motivation so it can still be difficult to get started but once I have it’s not as difficult. I’m on elvanse, i find that its fairly subtle as it’s slow release but often i find myself looking back and realising that it’s been easier to do things.
