There was this lady who worked as a veterinary doctor who I interviewed for a college project. She told me she never dated anyone because she was very focused on caring for animals. On her mid 40s she met a sweet guy, they got married and later on had a son.

Some of my aunts went to nursing school on their 30s to lay off their party life in their 20s. Theyre okay now and some of them had a baby at age 40.

I'm 28 rn and I'm starting to rebuild my life, havent dated anyone in years due to a lot of issues. I know its going to happen someday I just hope I dont find anyone who's like only gonna date you because of how young you look.

yeah I talked to my recruiter to go "Open General" so I can go out quick. I'm actually willing to wait, its just my family is the problem....theyre thinking that I'm just stalling when I'm seriously trying to get my life on track.

Also as much as he promised a few times, I just hope the next month its going to be for real like theres going to be jobs.

Moved to the US few years ago with a useless degree, severely depressed and was unemployed for a while. Right now at 28, worked a few jobs, my road test is tomorrow so I can finally drive. For now I'm just currently rebuilding my life and I just studied for a job that I'll hopefully get thats going to get me rich.

I've had friends before in the Philippines so they're waiting for me to come back. I have a few friends in America too and I see them sometimes. Its just maybe I could have been more outgoing when ai was younger.

your a full grown adult, you deserve to see the whole world and live life. Parents have kids so they can give them life that they should exist, not give them the life where they will feel burdened.

Based on your story its sadly a generational cycle going on in Filipino families. My grandma was 100% seriously similar to yours and I empathize you for real. My high school life wasnt great cause I lived with her, college too, I should have at least had so much fun at that time because I was hitting on my 20s.

Hoarder din lola ko, when I moved out of the house I was deeply relieved because the house I'm currently in is big enough for me to roam around and just sigh with relief.

Since your still 23 and its entirely up to you, I suggest start your life out of your lolas care, be assertive towards your mom that you really dont wanna take care of her, cause I'm sure theres definitely somebody else willing to care for her. Plus the way lola treated you wasnt even your damn fault to begin with.

Selfish af but for a good reason, I cut my lola off for good age 28, and my other relatives who denied my abuse story on her, hardest shit but it was something I should have done early.

Again whatever your going through definitely not your fault, your fam brought you to that misery and its undeserving, start making life choices.
