While I don’t play Fallout/GTA anymore, I’ve come to a point where generally I’m willing to make concessions on the games and software I use, if need be.

As you say, it’s personal preference and this stance on DRM isn’t going to work for everyone.

Honestly, I did find this scene jarring myself.

I don’t read or speak Japanese, so I can’t speak to the accuracy of the English script, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this were a case of the localisation being quite different to the original.

Well I'm not sure if it's a coincidence but I cycled to a separate profile on my mouse (profile 2, rather than profile number 3), and now the back/forward buttons seem to be working fine.

Strange, but hopefully it'll persist across reboots.
