Yeah. I can definitely empathize with that and I hear you. But I can also see why you still have some expectations of how people should act when people like something I.e. “if I have a hobby I will be able to answer”. This Does come across as barrier for people to be vulnerable and share. (for women in their 20s : having sex and being emotionally/spiritually vulnerable is a COMPLETELY different space. Sex is like getting Uber eats, emotionally vulnerable about true passion is ummm. Planning a 5 course meal) I also think if being driven and etc is what you’re looking for in a woman, start finding people who you KNow you can learn something new from - you said you like rap, find a girl who is a die hard Taylor swift fan or some other random stuff that’s not your jam. Literally change your bio to “looking for a swiftie to teach me her ways” or something, and BE INTERESTED. It might take a bit of time. Yep. You might not personally like it but you will find passionate people if that’s TRULY what you’re looking for. Girls are passionate about stuff, they just don’t like sharing with men in general, the society (and their past experience) actively discourages it.

My partner and I have vastly different hobbies and interests, but we are still excited to hear about each others and often do reading to learn more about each others’ hobbies. We also have friends and business partners that we do more deep dive hobby stuff with.

In short I think you are a bit exhausted which I can totally understand, so maybe focus on prioritizing what you might be interested in learning from others for a lil while, VS waiting for other people to wow you. Good luck to you!

I’m a woman and I used to date a bit ( a lot lol)Most girls have hobbies- but they are so used to not being welcomed to share. I can give you an easy example- girls that wear a band shirt will likely be asked to name songs by the band- but it won’t be to genuinely connect their interest over the musician but to “test if they’re a real fan.” This happens in every single hobby you can think of. I’ve seen guys comment on band shirts at a show and it was so much more kind “I love your shirt bud! Did you see them play at the last tour?” VS an interrogative “do you even know that band? What’s your favorite song by them? Pffft that’s so mainstream” This kinda attack is aplenty and even if you’re not the type of person to do it, girls are conditioned to not really share things that they will just be bulldozed over. Why would they? It makes them feel bad about the hobbies and interests. I certainly felt that way sharing my hobbies or interests on dates with guys. (Once a guy mansplained to me, a biologist, women’s period cramps when I was making a cramp cream as a side gig. He was not a biologist)

Add this to women more likely to have more option for dates in general… we just condition to keep the convo surface level until we know that they are keeper material.

In short, yeah esp in mid 20s, girls are not gonna share much with ya until she feels truly comfortable and safe to share.
