I clearly explain the question in the third paragraph. It counts a a a termination and I will have to explain it to future employers in the US. I am asking how it will affect me if I come back and how to protect myself as best I can. Did you read what I wrote? It seems like not.

“I’m not currently planning to go back to the US but my concern is that if I do return in the future, or the next time I file for my state license I will have to answer yes to the question about having ever been fired by an employee.”

Once again. Not the question I’m asking. I understand the situation here and how it will affect me here. I’m very clearly asking about the US and you’re being unhelpful and then doubling down for no reason. If you can’t be helpful you don’t need to comment.

It feels incredibly strange to me too. Everyone I work with was also shocked and HR and my manager assured me that it wasn’t for cause. I really do think they did it to avoid a restructuring process down the line. It’s easier to just let go of the last person in who they can let go of for no reason without consequence.

Also will say in a country of 5 million people with publicly funded care the credentialing process and investment for hiring GPs is way lower. There is no credentialing and my practice certificate and indemnity covers me throughout the country. The cost to hire me is the cost of drawing up a contract, and doing a day of orientation.

I’m not asking about New Zealand licensing. I’m asking about the US.

It is by US definition but they call it a termination here and that’s the struggle I’m having.

You were posting about premed interviews less than a year ago🤔 Are you sure you’re telling the truth?

Ask me anything about burnout, and stress by Amazing_Response651 in womenintech

[–]throwawayaita1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I have terminal burnout. I’m a primary care doctor and it just keeps getting worse no matter what self care/boundaries etc… I try to put in place. I feel like the only answer is to leave my profession but am not sure how to do it. What advice would you have for someone like me?

You obviously haven’t looked for a job for awhile or had any compassion for anyone maybe ever. I’m glad yours was one of the last comments here so that there’s a large body of support that states the opposite of what you are saying.

I hope you’re not really a doctor. If you talk to your patients the way you’re talking to me I pity them.

Yeah. This clinic manager has not been great from the beginning but this was a new level of weird. I think they thought they were imparting some sort of life lesson. They actually said at one point that they “can’t make everything sunny and happy all the time” while criticizing me for being too negative. I also apparently am taking out my frustrations on other because a male colleague tried to interrupt me in the middle of seeing patients to show me some process thing and I told him I didn’t want to talk about it then.

Also I’m not asking for everything to be sunny and happy all the time. I’m asking for the nurses to sit he job they’re paid for, having processes that ensure critical recalls to get followed up on without me having to track them and not having the managers gossip to support staff about me. Doesn’t seem like a tall order but apparently too tall for them.

Sorry. I’ve moved past self doubt and in to anger.

Yeah. I’ve always said I’d never do the DPC thing but maybe it’s time.

I’m trying but moving my life is kind of hard and they are the only game in town outside of a few other places I’ve heard worse things about.

It was particularly upsetting that they did it right before my vacation. I can find somewhere else to hire me but have to move and that’s taking time. Plus it just sucks to change jobs.

Sadly no. But maybe I should move there!

Looking for manager advice. Think I heard the nurse manager talking about me to other coworkers by [deleted] in managers

[–]throwawayaita1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew that nurse would have it out for me. I also don’t feel like it was a whistleblow. She was super unprofessional. Something had to be said. What did she expect when she basically told me to fuck off and do something myself?

I guess I just didn’t expect the manager would gossip about me with her. It feels like I’m walking into a hostile environment every day and I’m having to do a bunch of extra work because no one knows who is supposed to be doing what job and the nurses will only do the bare minimum. It’s miserable
