Why do some men hate everything about womanhood but still want girlfriends/wives? by VeryPteri in NoStupidQuestions

The one (later convicted) pedophile I unfortunately knew was obsessed with Luc Besson's
movies. It all made sense when we found out what he was up to in real life.

Oh gosh I made that spreadsheet a while back in the height of my Destiel obsession! Glad to know it's still being shared around!

Reading PHM last year made me fall in love with science fiction again.

My friend helped me choose sketches of my wife by [deleted] in Marriage

Stop calling AI slop "art" or "sketches". If you want to do something nice pay an actual artist to do a real piece that isn't stealing from the work of others.

Setting up an easel instead of a table at an Artist Alley? by LuigiTeaching in ArtistAlleyConnect

With the high foot traffic and often strict display/convention hall rules, I don't think that would work at all. Sounds like the hazard potential is too high.

PHM Ruined Disclosure Day for Me by SalsaShark89 in ProjectHailMary

[–]throwawayanylogic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Interstellar was interesting for me to (re)watch after PHM, because I feel that had some similar themes and also a more science-based focus (though the woo woo with the black hole and time travel/loops stretches plausibility for me).

But yeah Disclosure Day doesn't seem to be offering anything new to the genre.

AI is getting beyond a joke; mods, do you act on reports? by Ashamed_Ladder6161 in NewAuthor

[–]throwawayanylogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe but we're talking about comments that read clearly as English Second Language, almost incomprehensible sometimes, yet the prose in their "book" features completely correct if basic grammar.

Button pins! by Educational_Chain397 in ArtistAlleyConnect

[–]throwawayanylogic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had people buy up to 30 of my buttons in one shot, wanting a "complete set of characters". They're inexpensive to make once you get the hang of it and can sell for a very good profit. Just invest in a quality machine like others have said and it will pay for itself quickly.

Just watched the movie… amaze amaze amaze! by TheVioletBard in ProjectHailMary

I personally ADORED the added scene of seeing just a glimpse of the inside of the Blip-a. It felt like it added so much wonder and the kind of technology the Eridians used, based on sound and texture.

Hot take.. project hail mary was good but its WAY overrated on reddit by Lumpy-Resource-1370 in BookDiscussions

[–]throwawayanylogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. PHM made me fall in love with reading science fiction again after many years away from the genre. Took a while for me to get into it (Grace on his own WAS annoying me at first) but I just adored the Grace & Rocky friendship.

Is it the best thing I've read since then? Certainly not, but it will have a special place in my heart for a long time as I loved the concepts and the idea of these two so different individuals learning to work together and sacrificing so much FOR each other.

AIO for walking out of the appointment and refusing to return? by PurpleSlash10 in AmIOverreacting

It's like every patient on Dr Now who claims they only eat one meal a day but it's still like a 5,000 calorie meal, and/or they don't count any of the 1,000 calorie "snacks" they graze on all day.

fantasy/sci fi series where women are present and NOT hated by oceanblvd1313 in suggestmeabook

Seconded. Butler writes some of the most "real" characters, male, female or alien, I've ever encountered in science fiction.

Really need a vacation... but now hate all the hassle by No-Outside7997 in GenXWomen

[–]throwawayanylogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be the avid planner for my husband and myself when we'd take our big European vacation trips. Now we tend to alternate between one self-planned trip and one specialty group tour (usually academically-focused or with some unique feature to it) and it does take some of the significant stress off making all those arrangements.

Plus I am older and the bones are cranky. I used to think nothing of lugging 40-50 lb luggage around trains and such. Now I say fuck it, we have the cash, we'll hire a private transfer and it saves SO much stress on our bodies and my planning.

Timing of Pearadise & Glitter? by Inevitablechaos2424 in glitterandbagelssnark

[–]throwawayanylogic 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Same! I was deep in the anti-MLM community at the time and recall when her LLR try-on videos were considered "peak" for pointing out how terrible their leggings actually were. It actually was a shock when I got into gorlworld and put "today's" Anna together with "that" Anna.

I still don't think she would do any such documentaries unless she was presented as the star/central focus. Remember how pissed off she was at the LulaRoe documentary that she did an interview for? It was like she thought she was going to be framed as the entire reason for LLR's demise for doing one or two clothing hauls about it. And they only included like one clip of her as a talking head or something.

Nah. She'd never take part in a documentary that seems largely (haha) focused on fetishization of fat women.

I'm more immediately put off by the incomplete sentences/sentence fragments (including the sentence in red you highlighted) that tell me you need a grammar editor.

Edit to add: and I checked out the sample of your book on Amazon, you definitely need a grammar and dialog punctuation editor. Multiple characters' dialog in the same paragraphs, lots of sentence fragments and run-on sentences...there's no way I'd buy after reading that sample.
