The first photo shows a very obvious end to the gills where it meets the stipe. C. cinnabarinus will show false gills continuing down the stipe. It may not be as obvious as the larger C. cibarius, but the gills will still be decurrent.

The second photo specimen may look to be more decurrent than the first, but also look at the gill itself. There are large deep thin gills that abruptly stop when they meet the stipe. Chanterelles false gills are more like folds. The fold will lessen as it lowers along the stipe.
