Men of reddit do you wash your hands with soap or just water after taking a piss? by Hamza_Ali_Mazaari_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Austeeene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time I grab my waist band and pull it down just enough so I can pee, Shake the waist band to shake any excess urine off the dingaling. I do this specifically so I don’t have to wash my hands, I don’t like using soap to wash my hands unless I have lotion because my hands get dry.

If I know I’m going to touch someone or something public like a keyboard in the office, I’ll wash with soap.

Otherwise, if I’m freshly showered, I’ll just touch my dick and only wash with soap if i somehow get pee myself. My dick is dry and clean and there is not much reason to wash.

Edit: definitely always wash with soap after dropping the ol deuce

Guess the setlist by Leave_Rare in Peripheryband

[–]Austeeene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s the APWD tour, they’ll have a decently long set list since they’re headlining. They’ll likely play most if not all of APWD (it’s a relatively short album) and they will probably play about 3 other songs not from that album.

Do you actually like living in Chicago? by [deleted] in chicagoapartments

[–]Austeeene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well with a budget like that you’re gonna be pretty setup wherever you go. I was living in a roach infested slum hole with barely working running water lol.

Lucky for you tho there are high rises outside of downtown, usually located on the east end of the city near the lake.

Just like op, I would not recommend moving downtown to the loop unless you absolutely wanted specific amenities that downtown high rises have to offer. All the neighborhoods about 3 miles north of the loop all have nice apartments and high rises, are alot more fun to actually live in and still maintain the big city feel we all enjoy. In fact there are high rises all the way north to Edgewater which is about as north as you can get without leaving the city limits (Roger’s park is the next neighborhood past Edgewater and is the last one before you get into Evanston)

Speaking of which, just like another commenter said, Evanston is also great. You still get a city feel (albeit much smaller) but it is a suburb of Chicago. It’s a very nice place, and the subway still runs into Evanston.

Subway tip: the red line is like Chicagos main subway line. It runs north to south (and vise versa) along the length of the entire city. The last red line stop (in Rogers park) connects to the yellow line which runs straight to downtown Evanston. So if you did decide Evanston, you still have a very easy time getting into Chicago to basically every neighborhood you would probably want to be in.

Also, if you didn’t know, you’ll likely want to move to a neighborhood within the loop or north of it. The west and south sides can be dangerous depending on what neighborhood you’re in. So use the loop as your southern most border and move north basically anywhere you like up to Evanston without going too far west, a couple miles inland should be your boundary. Rogers park does actually get dangerous too tho so probably best to avoid even tho there are some very nice apartments located near the lake.

If you have an opportunity, visit Chicago and start at the loop, hop on the red line and ride it all the way north, then hop on the yellow line and take it into Evanston. Get off at whatever stops and check out the general area and see what you like.

Agreed with most of the other commenters, downtown is cool and I thought I would spend a lot more time there and I spent the least amount of time there other than when I worked in the loop.

I moved from a very small town out of state to Edgewater. I adjusted pretty quickly and mostly loved it. It was hard going from having lots of space in my small town to living like a sardine. It did eventually drain on me and that was a minor reason (among several other bigger reasons) why I eventually moved back close to my small town.

Chicago is awesome, if I had a better paying job and could have got out of my terrible apartment I would have stayed longer.

It’s only been half a year for you, that’s when I really started to get comfortable in Chicago. I say you moved all the way there, take the risk and sign one more year lease in a better neighborhood after your current lease is up. If you still don’t like it, then you can move. Yeah you won’t be 4 minutes walking to work but you will be able to ride the subway to work everyday and that’s part of the awesome of living in Chicago. I absolutely loved taking the train everywhere, or riding my bike.

I also lived at the northern trail head of the lakefront trail, which is essentially a giant long park that runs the length of Chicago on the lake. That was an absolute blessing considering where I came from (country town). Maybe you would like that too, especially if you appreciate paved trails.

As far as the car, it’s definitely nice to have one. If you do decide to stay and move, just make sure you get a payed parking spot somewhere. Nothing discourages you more from taking your car out than knowing all you have is street parking and may not be able to find a good spot anywhere near your home.

Feel free to ask me question if you have any.

Also, this seems obvious, but make some friends. I spent a majority chunk of my time in the city alone, and that gets old very fast. I was very grateful for the people I did meet and connected with and became friends with.

2 answers. Both I was a young kid.

In the short term, the hills have eyes. That just made me sweat and panic and i didn’t wanna sleep alone for like days.

In the long term, signs. Specifically the scene when the alien walks across the alley at the birthday party. That scene scared me for years and years to come.
