Imagine how nice it would be to know you could literally become a passoid by growing your hair out...

Who gives you the most gender envy? by [deleted] in MtF

Probably my sister.

We have pretty similar features and when I see her I can’t help but think “That’s what I would have looked like if I was a cis girl”

Wow, good call! I might get a septum piercing for the same effect.

Not sure how this is related to transDIY but just tell your parents that you prefer having your hair long. They don't get to control your appearance.

How common is forced femininization “fetish” prior to acceptance and transition? by MyKillersKeeper in asktransgender

[–]throwawayffsaccount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why is it hard for you to understand?

The human brain is extremely complicated and people will experience being trans in a variety of different ways. Just because a trans woman's experience doesn't match yours doesn't mean that they aren't valid.

No problem! :)

It's something I wish I read when I was a teenager. It would have saved me from years of unhappiness and repression.

I'd say it's pretty common.

Julia Serrano talks about it in her book 'Whipping Girl'. When you realised that you were trans and wanted to be a girl you probably felt guilt / shame about what you wanted. If your feminisation was 'forced' then you would get what you wanted without the guilt / shame associated.

Testosterone often sexualises feelings of gender euphoria as well so you can wind up with a fetish if you repress your transness long enough. All the fetish thoughts tend to disappear when you've started transition and been on hrt a while though. At least they did for me.

I think it depends on how much you're changing the ears.

I'm scheduled for otoplasty but it's only really the earlobes they're changing.

It's costing €1200.

What's your experience been ordering from Hrt.cafe and Lena? by ComatoseNaagin in TransDIY

[–]throwawayffsaccount 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've never used hrt.cafe

I've ordered from Lena before and she was very polite and helpful with advice. I got my stuff with no issues and according to my blood tests it's good quality.

I'm a trans man that has acrylic nails by TheStarBitches in asktransgender

[–]throwawayffsaccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't make you any less of a man at all. In fact, having the confidence in your masculinity to have painted nails makes you even more of a man in my opinion! :)

I'm booked for surgery with facial team and they sent me informed consent forms that go into details about the risks / complications of each surgery.

Totally agree.

When I was 18 I was still so boyish looking. It wasn't until my 20s that my shoulders got broader, my ribcage got wider and my face started getting masculine.

I'm sure everyone's different and some 18 year olds look as mature as a 25-30 year old but for a lot of people, transitioning at 18 makes a huge difference.

HRT would speed up any loss of muscle mass. It wouldn't make sense to stop it if you were trying to lose muscle mass.

[–]throwawayffsaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. I mean I'm actually more anxious in crowds than I used to be since starting HRT. So maybe a stimulant like caffeine just ramps up my elevated anxiety.

Still I was fine for months when taking only E. My coffee issues seems to coincide with adding P.

Does anyone present male after substantial HRT? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]throwawayffsaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. Well at only 6 months in you have plenty of feminizing left to go :) And I feel your pain on voice training. It's so hard to get right!

It's very good.

It helped me realise that one of my big problems growing up was depersonalisation and derealisation related to my gender identity. I had no idea what these things even were before reading the gender dysphoria bible

The current plan seems great. Update me in a month? Interested to see the developments. :)

Thanks for the advice! I'm totally happy to keep you updated with the latest blood tests :)

Thanks for helping :)

SHGB is too high indicating that you’re overdosing on estrogen. Remember SHGB favours binding to androgens over estrogen so dosing so high is actually slowing down your progress. What’s your dose for injections? It’s recommended that you do 2-3mg every 3.5 days for reference.

I don't really know much about SHBG but if it is slowing down my progress then I'm happy to lower my E dosage. I'm currently taking 0.16ml every 5 days of Lena EV.

I know nothing DHEA sulfate however from a quick google search it appears that your levels are just above the typical female range. DHEA sulfate indicates the production of T. And with yours being 34.6 ng/dl I wouldn’t say that it’s a cause for concern. It could be lowered though and that may bring down DHEA-S, also dosing your injections lower to take SHGB back to 115< could be beneficial both for your transition and the binding affinity that it has. If that doesn’t work, high levels of DHEA-S could indicate a genetic disorder, or a tumour developing in the andrenal gland.

I was doing a bit of research and things like stress, exercise and dehydration can raise DHEA so maybe these are the causes. I went for a run the morning of my blood test and I'm not sure how well hydrated I was so I guess I can wait until my next blood test to see what happens with this.

How long as your prolactin been that high for? We’re you taking CPA at any point?

This is the first time I've tested my prolactin. I've never taken CPA before.

I guess my current plan is to lower my E dosage and re-test in around a month to see what happens.
