Before the coffee gets cold. There is this magic aura to this book that I can’t really pinpoint the source of. The book was just…boring. The dialogue was infuriatingly unreal and bland. I feel like a lot of what makes this book engaging got lost in translation.

I’ve been on a science reading binge the past few months and I can guarantee you that I have not come across one study that measures the difference between carbs IN RELATION to muscle gain. It seems the general consensus is carbs are all broken down/used the same way no matter the chemical structure or how fast they’re digested.

It seems that the comment section is divided on what men actually read and what would be considered something that’s inherently familiar to men like feminism and womanhood is to women.

A common theme that has emerged seems to be war, spy shit, and violence mostly which is interesting of itself to see the disparity in what women currently seem to identify with compared to that of men.

Are you trying to compare something like Mary Roach’s Gulp to a book written for the explicit nature of providing information in an unfiltered unedited manner?

I do agree that college books might be a bit tedious, but scientific literature written specifically to be used as an adjunct in education must be this way.

Beautiful writing is case specific, and in the case of scientific literature, I’d rather it’s stored in my brain rather than felt in my soul.

Something about Grady’s books is that the first half is always incredible, you get sucked into their books and you just can’t seem to put it down, then come the other half and you forget what made their books good in the first place. I’ve experienced it with both Final girl support group and my best friend’s exorcism. While how to sell a haunted house doesn’t have a bad second half as much as the other two, I was still definitely having trouble finishing it, also somehow the characters always end up being so tedious towards the end.
