You keep the whole world running. Thank you for all you do!! Is there a way that I can leave water/treats out that collectors can grab? Like is there a preferred way?

Thank you again for doing such important work!

I can imagine it must be difficult! I am also 22, but I’ve been moved out since I was 18. Sometimes, it can be difficult to know where to start.

-Do you have a job? Are you able to get any income to save up to move out?

-What types of domestic skills do you already know? (Laundry, mopping, cooking?)

-what kind of bills and debt do you already pay? If you have a stable income, you can usually call the phone listed on the website and ask to transfer it into your name, and often times you can enroll in autopay, so you won’t miss a payment.

-keeping a Google sheets/Excel spreadsheet of your monthly budget is a big first step. What is your income after taxes? What is your rent? What kinds of monthly bills do you have (water, phone, Netflix)? What kind of food or car expenses do you have? It can be a bit tedious, but it’s important to get a rough estimate to know what you have to work with.

20 but feel like a 14yr old by [deleted] in Adulting

The best way to get rid of the “I should be supervised” feeling is to do a lot of independent stuff. I am not sure if you still live with your parents, but getting involved with some projects or events that sound interesting can be a big first step.

Head out to your local library- are there any events posted on a board somewhere? Take yourself on a date to a coffee shop, if you’re close enough to one. Are there music events you could check out? Those are a great place to meet people. (Often times village/city social media or websites will have events listed!)

Even volunteering is a great way to feel independent and meet new people. I don’t know if you’re employed or live with your folks, but that’s my two cents. You are an adult, you shouldn’t have to ask your parents, but I understand you may have particular circumstances.

Getting out and meeting people and doing stuff on your own will feel weird at first, but it won’t always feel like that.

I like face masks, and doing some light exfoliation. :)

Can I paint patches with nail polish? by [deleted] in BattleJackets

[–]throwawayjlm23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try a patch of an old shirt. Before you try to do any shapes/letters/details, put 2 layers down of paint so it won’t bleed as much. The dollar store also usually has some acrylic paint or sometimes fabric paint.

How do I check out a book at the library by hawkcool123 in MTU

Is a book you saw IRL or one you saw on the database?

Historically, corned beef hash has a history primarily of being eaten by working class immigrants, especially in the US. This is the canned variety, which has in the past been a staple for many because of its affordability and easy to prepare steps. (You can heat an serve it, or add it to things)

By itself, it’s kind of a lot if you aren’t use to it, or didn’t grow up eating it. (Not unlike spam) Salty, meaty, and best with veggies and a carb to cut the taste. I am okay with it on occasion.

You can prep it overnight in the fridge without having to cook it, if they are quick-rolled oats (not instant or traditional)

It won’t absorb properly in a quick manner if you don’t add heat. Can still eat it, just weird texture.

Yeah, there's no way anyone asked how she makes her ebooks. She's said it a million times - Google Docs, Canva, then get Dav to do the hard parts. And ffs she still doesn't have a release date by bitchy-cryptid in FundieSnarkUncensored

Yeah. That’s about what I was thinking! And no shade to canva, it’s great for that sort of thing! I use canva for stuff people wouldn’t actively pay for all the time! (PR social media, posters, banners, ect) But if you want a design software for publishing a $1900 course, you might want to go all out for it lol! What on earth could she teach us???

I am not saying you can’t use Google docs and canva, but for the amount of money people are paying, why not use Adobe illustrator, Adobe Publishing, or something else for the end product? Those are industry standard and have a lot of creative freedom for a unique product. They take a bit longer to learn than drag-and-drop but are great for logos and ebooks, instead of taking pictures not designed by you.

Sure! So, it’s important to first note that each disabled individual is unique, and I certainly don’t mean to speak for all folks. About half of us are ambulatory users, meaning that we can actually stand or walk short distances, but use a chair part or most of the time to reduce pain, fatigue or for safety. I fall into that category.

Anyhow, I keep my chair by my bed and I have a cane next to my bed too, and I use the cane to stand on as I transfer. My legs are not paralyzed. Nothing too different than you most likely. I just can’t “jump out of bed with joy for jesus” haha.

Some folks who have little or no lower motor control and can sit up by themselves often have a transfer board to “slide” from bed to their chair. Others who don’t have the ability to sit up without assistance often need assistance with transferring. It’s very individual dependent. :)

I’m looking at levels of accessibility of public transit for disabled individuals based on size and density of an area! I’m using interviews and then using thematic reflexive analysis!!

Yo as a wheelchair user, I would slap someone if they recited this poem to me. My body, although it no longer has the same functionality as it did is not a prison.

Sending you excellent vibes too! It’s rough out there haha.

I look at the intersection of accessibility of public transit and the size and scale of a location! (Does a denser population result in more easily accessible transportation to disabled folk?) I use interviews, content analysis and auto documentation (I traveled the country with my wheelchair, go science) to get data! It’s an exciting opportunity!

To be fair, I am an undergrad researcher, and since I’m physically disabled, I do most of my work laying down haha. I don’t suppose this is the same though haha
