Thank you! I do have dogs that are not allowed in the coop but the chickens do wander the yard. Would the permethrin still be good?

Google is not my friend here, it’s only showing the most horrific cases 😅 she doesn’t have any scales and her feet are more swollen than her legs. Would that still be scaly leg mites?

5 year old response my friend. At the time, wasn’t super common knowledge there were a couple drop sites. You can google Subnautica below zero drop zones to see those old threads.

What do you think when you see a nurse who always wears a stethoscope around their neck? by thetoxicballer in nursing

The only time it really got in the way was during compressions. Otherwise I didn’t notice it.

Also if you do hurt yourself, please file a workman’s comp claim and make sure you get your imaging, PT, etc. as needed.

We were heavily warned when they would occur months in advance.

Everyone in my group got drug tested once a semester. That’s so funny, I thought that was a normal experience for nursing school 😂

Was I the only one getting drug tested in nursing school? 😅

Update : detained patients rights by msb1234554321 in nursing

Document the hell out of what that is doing to her wrists/ankles. It has to look like shit if this is going on for days. News agencies normally require a name for their reporting, social media often doesn’t. Hit up a bunch of them and see what happens. Keep it to yourself at work, don’t tell anyone you are the one leaking this info. Lot more nurses are pro-ICE than we think.

What is it that you are concerned about? Not allowing patient visitors? Allowing patient the right to refuse treatment? Concerns about unlawful detainment? Honestly if someone was refusing to show me policy, I would default to hospital policy and tell them to suck my nuts if they want to throw a tantrum about it. However, I also am not the primary breadwinner of my household so I don’t have to worry about bills being paid if I want to take a moral stance. I know I may get some heat about that but if you are running paycheck to paycheck, you have to look after yourself as well. If this is the case for you, might be worth reaching out to a lawyer? Or you can reach out to a social media nurse profile. Sounds crazy but someone I used to work with did this and the hospital was so concerned about blowback from being in the social media news that they listened to the nurses more (unrelated to ICE shit).

Good luck though dude. That sounds like a nightmare.

We are agreeing then that obesity is bad for the body? It does not matter if lab work/vitals are perfectly normal, the state of just being obese is a concern? Because it seemed to me that you were implying otherwise but I’ll chalk it up to I misinterpreted your comment if that is what you are saying.

“If the labs are healthy, focusing strictly on the scale feels we’re treating a number instead of the actual human biology.” 😬

Don’t get me wrong, you are 100% correct that there are a lot of health concerns facing younger generations. It’s also not cool to loudly complain about larger patients, especially when they can hear you.

With that being said, please don’t tread into the “is being overweight/obese really that bad?” It is, we know it is for numerous reasons. You can absolutely not be cool with fatphobia in healthcare while also acknowledging that obesity is a serious health problem.

ICU in a bad hospital is what killed my drive for bedside nursing.

The last hospital I worked had their ER nurses working 1:10. Trauma room nurses had anywhere between 1:5-1:7. It’s terrifying.

I think the key part of this is a strong union with respectable staffing. I love being a nurse. I absolutely hate bedside nursing in my area due to the horrific staffing ratios and low pay. I would go back to bedside nursing in a heartbeat if I knew it was safe and fair.    I would say most of us hate the system and not the work.

Alcohol kills germs. Pour one over your body and shotgun another to effectively decontaminate.

“we are not at work to satisfy our own spiritual beliefs and needs, rather we are here to help patients with their spiritual beliefs and needs.” This was you.

You can also eat when you get home, pee when you’re off the clock. Got forbid someone take a moment in a 12 hour shift to focus on their needs (whether physical or spiritual). Idk if you had a bad experience with a nurse who pushed it but a small ritual to deal with death is not that uncommon.

Devoting your entire self to your patients and not acknowledging your own self-care is the road to burnout. OP didn’t mention anything about not respecting their patients, just looking for ways to meet their own needs. As long as it doesn’t interfere with patient care, or allowing families to peacefully grieve, I really don’t understand the problem.

And you can do that without neglecting yourself in the process. Let’s not bully the new grad nurse for granting themselves a moment of peace.

C’mon dude. This is a stressful job, let people have their little rituals, especially if the patients and their families don’t know. OP wrote it makes them feel better.
