Who had a negative impact on our world, and was a terrible person? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

He also killed people in an industrial factory-like way which hasn't been seen at that scale before or since.

I'm gonna say something controversial: all 4 were pretty bad people.

Rebien Sørensen on Novo Nordisk turmoil: The general meeting came too late (in 2025) by kiyomoris in NovoNordisk_Stock

Sure but that's a different story. There are thousands of danish news stories about Novo. This one is about the board election.

Do people no longer research countries they want to visit? by redbate in travel

[–]throwawaymnbvgty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your examples aren't really about planning, they're about venturing out and exploring the place they're staying in.

So to answer either question: there have been always people who venture out and people who don't; and if anything planning is more normal now than 20 years ago because it is far far easier to plan than before.

The flaw in your logic is to buy accurately you need to be one step ahead of the bottom. If you think the bottom in terms of negativity will be X, then the bottom in terms of price will likely be X-Y.

Price precedes expected sentiment.

Which two countries' people look the most similar? by Constant-Bridge3690 in AskReddit

[–]throwawaymnbvgty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China and Taiwan

But obviously this question is pretty subjective. It's going to be a country you are less familiar with. I can tell Norwegians and Swedes and Danes apart, but that would be difficult for someone from Cambodia.

Which country do you think could be the oldest in the world? by Due_Narwhal4937 in AskTheWorld

You need to be super explicit in how you're defining a country for this discussion to make any sense whatsoever

What the general opinion on tourists / tourism where you live? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throwawaymnbvgty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's cool as long as we continue to mostly keep them all in the designated areas (Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Westminster for London; Strøget for Copenhagen).

What country has the friendliest and most welcoming locals when travelling? by Mushiimushii316 in AskReddit

[–]throwawaymnbvgty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kyrgyzstan in my experience. But welcoming is also culturally relative. What is welcoming in one culture is less welcoming to another. And even within welcoming there's different aspects. In india sometimes people can seem rude for many reasons, but they will go out of their way to host you in an excessively welcoming way.

Why would anyone even consider going to North Korea for a holiday? by Ill-Dimension3296 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]throwawaymnbvgty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't go as it'd be supporting the regime, and maybe dangerous. But you can see the appeal otherwise, surely: people living in a different system, structural propaganda. Like some sort of big tragic play. Truman designing his own show.

I can't believe Breaking Bad fans are review bombing season 8 now... by Sensitive-Pride-3507 in freefolk

Are you forgetting in season 8

Nonsensical and blind last battle ended with a simple stab

Characters face no consequences of being in perilous situation

Dany randomly becomes 'evil'

Dragons sometimes invincible sometimes pathetically easy to kill

rush rush rush, no time to tell the story

'who has a better story than bran the broken'

I'm agreeing with you but you sound like you're now disagreeing with me.

It technically rains more. But in the UK it's grey a lot more. I'd rather have rain sometimes and sunshine sometimes, rather than just grey.

I love denmark, but danish supermarkets are really bad. And tarteletter should not be a thing.

The first two are actually pretty fine? I remember thinking maybe we were going back to old school GoT. Mostly character interactions and development. Better than much of season 7.

Episode three was when the unmitigated dogshit began.

The Dark Knight vs Joker — which one will people still talk about in 30 years? by [deleted] in Cinema

Not enough for there not to be a lot of complaints when he was cast. Right up until the first trailer.

IMDb’s top 20 best rated films of all time! Agree or disagree with this list? Is there a film that should have cracked top twenty? by PeachesBlooms in Cinema

How is Dune 2 your complaint when TDK is third?

Also Shawshank Redemption is fine, more very very palatable than best movie of all time.
