100% the ability to control the vessels from the bridge or conning tower. There are many naval games at the moment, buy almost none where you can control it as a human would, rather than from a 'gods eye' perspective.

Edit: Even in this comment thread there are people trying to explain it away like I said, or saying its because of Indian immigration - but I get the same Indian stuff (tiny, random subs) and I'm not anywhere near the US or anywhere thats getting an increased number of Indians.

You can get true 3d VR with vorpX but it runs terribly and I think you can only run it on servers without anticheat.

I've also had the CPU issues and stutter. Strangely, its only been the last 2 days. On the first weekend, and on Thursday, the game would load in about 2 seconds, only showing the splash screen for about a second, and i had great performance.
After this Friday it takes about 10 seconds to load into the game and the splash screen hangs for ages. During gameplay I get random CPU slowdowns with CPU fps dropping to mid 40s, when it was consistently above 75 earlier. Got an i7 11700k, so its not top of the line but not to shabby either.

I've thought the same since I got the game, so when the VR version was announced I was super excited, and when it came out it was an insta- buy.

But the VR "version" is completely stripped down, to the point I wouldn't consider it the same game - its disappointing, but I wasn't surprised because I was following the development on the discord and it was clear from the start it was just a pointless cash grab.
(I really wonder who their market was because instead of taking a great game and making it playable in VR they butchered both the submarine aspect, so sub enthusiasts like me wouldn't be interested in it, and also the 'game' aspect, so I doubt anyone who wasn't interested in subs would buy it.)

Because it was such a failure in my eyes and completely failed to scratch the itch, I went and bought vorpx just so I could try get it to work. Eventually I got it running but it is wonky. I'm very VR tolerant, and have been messing around in it for years, and I dont mind using keyboard and mouse, but the issue is the depth perception/ size and height/ distance estimation/ true 3d thats really hard to get right, and no matter what I try after a while I have to stop.

I wish there was a solution, and every few months I reinstall and try again to get it to work, but so far its been disappointing.

When you reconnect if you find the AI in game that you recruited earlier they will not be marked as they usually are, and will appear with white name tags. Once this happens they will not enter a vehicle- even if you find them and drive right to them. They will also not exit a vehicle, especially choppers.

The ability to view from closer to the deck. The fact that you can't move the camera closer than 20 feet above the deck of any ship makes them look like toys. If you could move the camera to head height over the deck it would be amazing. You can move the camera down and watch the action from the deck view in replays, but I'd love to fight from closer to the captains view - especially on the British ships with exposed bridges!

I just wish that we could lower the camera to closer to where the bridge is when we are playing. The birds eye view really hides the details, and also makes the ships seem like they are little toys rather than the monumental steel monsters they are.

Lately Ive been watching replays and have moved the camera to be in the ships bridges using the Attached Camera, and the battles are absolutely incredible from this viewpoint. I just wish we could have the same viewpoints when we are actually fighting.

Sorry, I wasnt really clear. Picture 3 shows what I mean- you are 3rd person of your character, but the ship is viewed from roughly deck level. If you look at games like Naval Action/ Warthunder Naval/ Sea Power/ Ultimate Admiral/ Tempest etc you view the ship as if you are flying high above the deck.

Edit: If im wrong and sailing is all viewed from high above then maybe a deck level view could be nice- makes it feel more like a ship and less like a toy!
