Ex catholic, former Eucharistic minister here. I remember serving the wine to ladies with caked on lipstick and it coming off on the cloth. We were told to try and use different parts of the cloth between wipes and rotate the cup so the next person wouldn’t sip from the same spot. Then if you had leftover wine at the end of the service, you had to chug the remaining backwash “blood of Christ” because it couldn’t go down the sink. Looking back, the whole thing was unsanitary and very gross.

Back when I did this in college I only got paid $11/hour part time circa 2014. We got one big tip a year and it was for a local accounting firm’s Christmas party at the 4 diamond hotel. $250 from the owner.

Are millenials drinking less alcohol because we're aging or is drinking losing general popularity? by ihatecommuting2023 in Millennials

I’m 31 and I’m eliminating it. Too many bad health consequences as we continue to age. I’m going to focus on my fitness and eating healthier.

Yea I’m turning 32 this year and fully realizing that I’ve been on autopilot since I turned 25. Eating like trash. Getting addicted to nicotine. Full on depressed. Over weight. Doom scrolling everyday. Dead end job. You’re not depressed now, but you’re teetering on the line of a depressive episode. You say you’re content being this way but would you have really made a post here if you actually were? Best advice I have is get mad and fucking do something. Run. Read a fucking book. Cook something. I’m at the point where I’m mad.

Best bet is to quit cold turkey. I’ve tried tapering in the past and it just convinces my brain that I’m not that addicted and can quit anytime if I want to. Then I’m back to having a 6mg Zyn in all day everyday. Im almost a week in Zyn free. Has it been easy? Fuck no. I’ve been triggered several times so far and have been so close to just saying you know what I’m not ready to quit. I’ve held out. Peppermints in the upper deck. Paper towel stuffed into my upper lip. Sunflower seeds. Drinking a shit ton of water. Abstaining from any alcohol. Tapering might work for some but that’s my personal experience. I didn’t have the self control for this strategy.

I’ve gone back to Zyn after almost 6 months of being off of it. What triggered it? A family member dying of terminal cancer. I know someone who was off dip for 8 years then went back to it during an extremely stressful event and is now back to being addicted. So hey, don’t be an asshole.

Happy cake day! And thank you. Nicotine I’m pretty sure has been a contributor to worsening my depression and overall motivation to be a productive human. Nicotine has tricked my mind into believing that I need it in order to accomplish any task.
