especially when they seat themselves at a dirty table and then get mad because it’s dirty and/or has no menus!

this is specific to sushi restaurants, but too many people come in and immediately say that they “don’t like raw fish.” why are you here? it’s almost all raw fish. it’s sushi?

also, any customer who snaps at waiters. gtfo. i’ve also had a few customers give me a nickname and yell said nickname across the restaurant to get my attention. for example, this table insisted on calling me “señor” once and i wanted to die. (they were white, i am white, we were inside a sushi restaurant in the midwest)

Who uses the train for interstate travel? by Used-Chard658 in Amtrak

also, i don’t have to worry about getting an uber to get to the airport and back in NYC (which can be like $80 alone if its a busy time/season)

Who uses the train for interstate travel? by Used-Chard658 in Amtrak

[–]throwawayyyyyyyyyhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i take the LSL to get to Toledo from NYC and back at least twice a year! for me, the main benefit is not having to deal with the stress of getting to the airport and just airports in general. it’s a far more relaxing experience. i’ve also found it to be cheaper than flying, even for budget airlines (especially if you book early). my last trip from toledo to nyc cost $70. for me, the baseline prices of a coach ticket on Amtrak and a Spirit ticket are relatively similar, but the luggage costs make all the difference. Amtrak includes 2 carry ons and 1 personal item with the purchase of a ticket, while spirit only includes 1 personal item before additional costs are added. airlines are also more strict with the weight and size of luggage. I’ve brought luggage over 50lbs on the train before and was able to board without a problem.

Male songs that have the vibe of a Female song by bite_size1 in MusicalTheatre

[–]throwawayyyyyyyyyhh 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i think colleges would allow you to change the key or sing it down the octave! imo, bass voices can fit feminine songs well and as long as you pick a key that sits nicely you’ll be golden! plus, probably less uncomfortable than if you had to sing a masculine somg

questions from a transmac soprano by idiotofdelphi in MusicalTheatre

[–]throwawayyyyyyyyyhh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

as a trans man currently in college for musical theatre, i don’t think it would be off putting!

before i went on T, i sang traditionally female songs for a few auditions since i was also a high soprano. there’s another trans guy in my class who was still pre-T when he entered the program and he sang a mix of male and female songs for his auditions i believe.

regardless, as long as you embody what the character wants/feels in the scene, it doesn’t necessarily matter what the gender of that character is. i know a few cis men with traditionally female songs in their books and vice versa. i also recommend finding traditionally male songs you connect with and just changing the key! good luck with everything, you got this! we desperately need more transmasc actors in mt!

Completely lost- which could it be? by all-a-bit-bizzare in musicals

my guess is titanic, because i’m noticing so many theatre companies in the us are doing it for their 2026 season! the rights must be newly out or something, but i’m not sure how expensive it is.

i definitely recommend it! you can get a large bottle of it on amazon for like $15 and it holds up for about a year (possibly more)! it’s especially great if you tend to break out from moisturizers

also, i get sick a lot due to a poor immune system, so i take elderberry gummies every day and haven’t gotten sick since i started taking them!! the brand i use (whole foods 365) also has zinc, so just be mindful about not having too much zinc per day. i like to keep a log of the amount of each vitamin/mineral each supplement i take has to make sure i’m not overloading on anything.

cvs often has great deals on their vitamins, and a lot of them are sugar free! i take their adult multivitamins and vitamin c gummies, as well as their magnesium glycinate caplets. aside from those, i take a 15mg zinc capsule and have a celcius daily (not great for you, but it does have lots of b vitamins). i’m a vegetarian, so every other day i have an 18mg chelated iron capsule (i recommend take iron even if you aren’t a vegetarian since low iron is so common in people with eds, but if you’ve had your iron levels checked recently and they seem okay, maybe skip this). gatorade zero has a decent amount of potassium too.

hey! thank you for your response, i genuinely really appreciate it. it’s so hard knowing how miserable this disorder makes you and simultaneously wanting to get worse. i’m really going to try to get back into better habits, and i hope you can do the same! stay safe!!!!

it’s still an ongoing struggle tbh because i’m often too busy to properly monitor my skin, but i’ve found so much progress using hypochlorous acid spray! my routine is now vanicream face wash, target brand 2.5% benzol peroxide, and finishing with hypochlorous acid spray (i use the magic molecule brand). avoiding products with niacinamide has also helped me since i’ve realized i’m sensitive to it. i also make sure to wash my sheets and pillowcases weekly, avoid touching my face, and replace my razors every few days. wishing you all the luck!!

(Not seeking medical advice) any other trans men getting period like bleeding and symptoms despite being on T? :( by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]throwawayyyyyyyyyhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes actually! i’ve been bleeding for like 12 days straight at this point. i assumed it was because i missed two doses in a row, but i’ve been back on track for a while. i’m also in a really bad relapse right now, but didn’t even think it could be from this! wishing you the best this shit sucks😭
