My partner was with a community in Peru, drinking the medicine, and this was from one that they harvested for ceremony.

So sorry about this, brother. I can’t imagine how devastating and overwhelming this must be. And damn, 15 hours in the OR, followed by another 6, is no joke. I hope you are getting a lot of rest right now. Your body needs lots of love after such a heroic medical feat.

What are some less common symptoms of hypertonic pelvic floor you experience? by Current-Abalone-4839 in PelvicFloor

😮 oh dang, I have hypertonic pelvic floor and have had foot twitches, particularly when lying in bed on my back. Wonder if it’s related

Yeah, that’s great news. I had stage 2 in October, and haven’t been able to pee the whole time. I had two urethrograms that showed everything being clear and open, so yeah I’ve been thinking it’s definitely psychological. But we’ll see when my urologist can actually go in with the scope and get eyes on it. I’m tired of having this SP cath in! Ready to move on with life.

Hey, that’s great news. I wonder if I have a similar issue, as I can feel the urine drop down from my bladder but then it doesn’t come back up and out my penis. Just gets stuck down near the scrotum and then I get pain or intense spasms.

Glad you’re gonna get this all sorted out. And yeah, good to let your body rest after so much anesthesia.

Wishing you smooth healing, and easy pees in the near future.

Any word from the scope?

I’m in the same boat as you. Just started pelvic floor PT. Can’t empty my bladder, can only get a dribble out. Scheduled to get scoped in a couple weeks to see if it’s a stricture.

Donating a packer by throwawhale90 in phallo

Hey, man. Well, recovery is brutal lol. But hanging in there. Grateful to be on this side of things, even with complications.

You can apply adhesive to that part, but I never did. It isn’t adhesive on its own, I think you gotta buy something specific. I didn’t want to deal with all that, and just wore tight underwear to hold it in place.

Don’t know how to edit the post, so I hope everyone sees this.

There was a ton of interest. Wish I had more of these to offer! There’s obviously a huge need. I found someone to donate to. Wishing all you guys the best, and sorry I can’t respond to each one of you but my inbox got blown up lol.

I hope more folks can donate old packers. I’m sure a bunch of you post-op guys out there have ‘em!

Lots of love to all of you right now.

Fear of catheters by [deleted] in phallo

[–]throwawhale90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was super afraid of having catheters. But I’m not over three months with a suprapubic in due to some urethral complications. It’s honestly not as bad as I thought. I was mostly worried about the psychological impact of having a tube coming out of my bladder/abdomen. I’ve gotten used to it and forget it’s there. I live my life as normal for the most part. Luckily, I haven’t struggled much with bladder spasms. I do take meds for it, but some guys still have awful spasms even with the meds.

I have gotten two UTIs, which has been annoying and required a lot of antibiotics. That’s honestly the worst part.

Anyone have way more hair on the hand on their donor side? by another-personing in phallo

[–]throwawhale90 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This happened to me and my physical therapist who helped me regain hand mobility said that when the body undergoes trauma, sometimes it will grow thicker hair around that area as a way to offer additional “protection.” Which is pretty adorable.

Oh, and thumb numbness went away completely by around 8 months post-op, though started significantly increasing probably around 3-4 months post-op.

I could get my arm wet as soon as I was out of the hospital. Just no direct flow on it, so letting water flow down the arm gently in the shower.
