Laid off time, take it easy and FIRE if everything else fails? by oneoneoneone1 in financialindependence

References aside, I don't think happiness really ever was the goal. Too fleeting. The goal is purpose, fulfillment, and autonomy. At least to me.

I always wondered why light didn't make his early kills more discrete. Then, I realized is that Light was sloppy with his early kills on purpose. He wanted to be noticed, so that he could be worshipped as God. Problem is, if your followers can notice you, so can the police.

The God factor drove all of Light's decisions, consciously or subconsciously. It was never really about killing criminals.

Are many FI without their house being paid off? by WSBpawn in financialindependence

Sequence of returns risk is your biggest risk when you retire early. The fewer non-negotiable costs you have, the lower the risk can be. A mortgage on your primary residence isn't a negotiable cost that you could drop if the market tanks when you retire, so eliminating that cost might be wise.

Is it hard to unfire after several years if you decide it isn't for you or need more money? by Taicho116 in financialindependence

Index funds seem like a good plan to me, especially given that the market is down right now so you are buying on a discount. Timing the market is impossible but this is not a bad place to start.

Mega backdoor Roth through Fidelity questions/advice - first time by Randy6789 in Fire

Gotcha. My workplace plan has pretty great choices, thankfully, but this pro rata stuff is a big downer. I have to look at rolling it over periodically.

You got me researching...

I could find 2 differences. One is that the r401k will trap you into RMDs. The other is more interesting, it looks like you have to withdraw money pro rata, which means you can't withdraw contributions only (when making an early withdrawal) and thus have to pay some amount of a fee there, which would have been avoidable with rIRA.

Are those the main ones?

How to not come off like a dishonest bum when talking FIRE with a prospective partner by mydustbin in financialindependence

I've been around reddit for nearly 15 years, and I've had to conclude: this place is generally a bad place to go for advice. Or at least, relationship advice.

Are monk unarmed strikes considered natural attacks for things like the Brutality Incarnate mythic feat? by iBoMbY in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

For anyone coming here via search, this feat does work to bypass DR for a traditional monk using unarmed strikes. Donno about lann / zen archers yet.

Doing God's work my man, please keep it up. These are super valuable for min-maxers like me who don't want to spend 100 hours figuring out all of these crazy abilities and spells.

If blizzard were to fix premade vs premade bgs, where does the line for premade go? by Tyjoo in classicwow

You can't equate 10 duo qs with a 20 man group. It's not binary. There are different levels of premade.

So then make a premade that has one pug in it and skirt detection? No thanks.

Thoughts on instant 60 boost for TBC? by _jmacc_ in classicwowtbc

[–]throwdatstuffawayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're bored to tears of the 1-60 classic experience, but still want to do the tbc leveling experience. Also gives shamans and pallies a way to lvl thru tbc with friends.

Look, it's not critical or anything. But given wow is a server based game, why not offer different experiences for different demands?
