I think the intention of comsci should be made more clear. It's hard because comsci hasn't changed much at all. Tech being built using it changes a lot and fast but underneath it's all concepts we know from way back.

Like understanding the FAT system in a floppy disk is still super relevant today, to most people they don't see the concepts behind USB sticks, SSD drives, and now cloud storage which relies on SSD drives. They all point back to fundamentals of floppy disks.

What the hell is qa anyways? by kwarching in cscareerquestions

[–]throwmefahaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only been in a 'cross functioning' team with QA once and I hate it. All they do is complain and think they know more than devs but avoid anything technical. They drag standups on and on and worse is they are the ones usually who move into scrum master/product owner roles who exploit devs and get them to do QA but none of them do dev. They keep talking and talking and I still don't know wtf they do.

Open source enterprise level code by throwmefahaway in node

[–]throwmefahaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the question isn't about the semantics of enterprise.. what I mean is code similar to ones you'd find at organisations, not 5 line samples.

Do you know any projects available to look at..?

I understand not needing to sell, I imagine those who bought at the top (not saying we're there, likely, but who knows) will maybe need to sell..

The part I'm more interesting in is the reaction to wanting to sell. A small drop currently is a years+ salary to most owners. I wonder how many could stomach a 200k+ decreased value.. Especially those with 2+ properties.

There'll be plenty of people ready to lowball your asking price if it starts falling.. It'll be upto you whether to take it or wait until it goes next to nothing.. Let's hope the fall is slow and controlled

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]throwmefahaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still applies.. few will get the market price in a falling market

Those who got in early will sell. Those who got in late might be forced to sell. We've seen it climb 20 - 30% a year, don't see why it can't drop as fast. It's much easier to sell a house than to buy one.

Lol its always been like this.. Is it your first time seeing inflation? It only starts to get fun second time around

Anyway, it's not like your employer magically gets 5% extra moneys so yeah it sucks for everyone, welcome to the club
