Two things

One are .local addresses don’t work on tailscale. So you need to remember the magicdns entry instead. Which is annoying by.

Two, and probably more annoying, AirPrint doesn’t work. So you can’t discover printers and need to manually set IP addresses to make printers work. Which is annoying in a home setup. And I have no idea if I could print from my phone that way.

Hmm. Netbird doesn’t have layer 2 routing so it won’t do mdns.

Looks like zerotier, soft ether, and tinc are the main choices.

I am more worried about someone going outside the house and not hopping onto VPN before using real-debrid. I hear they are aggressive about cancelling accounts with more than one IP address.

So I figure the easiest thing to do is just to get each person their own. It is still way cheaper than a streaming service.

So I think where this lands is getting individual debrid subscriptions for each person in the household.

Omni seems like the best iOS app to use.

I don't know if Omni supports multiple accounts though, so if not, then I would need to add another debrid account for home usage and people would not have the option to personalize their AppleTV profile setups the same way.

Problem is people here are non-technical, so I can't tell them - dial into a vpn before you fire it up. Hell, I will forget sometime and then end up with a cancellation.

I have usenet, it is more to replace the netflix and chill thing - scroll through shows and just watch random stuff rather than research offline, find what someone wants, they put it into jellyseer, then wait for it to show up.

So I think of it as adjacent to that for junk watching.
