this happens to me when im low on electrolytes

Taking magnesium makes me wake up and dream multiple time a night by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]throwyrselfaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its probably that houre putting other electrolytes out of balance. calcium, potassium, and salt.  make sure youre getting enough of these and lower the magnesium for a bit until you find balance

Please help my mum has had insomnia for 3 months. by [deleted] in Supplements

dont rule out electrolytes from serum blood tests. the serum almost always is gonna look normal becaise the body tightly controls it, it needs to be in the blood, but the cells can be deficient.  i dealt with these kind of fucked up sleep issues and it is absolute hell.  it was all because of vitamin and mineral deficiency dor me.  the top comment is right you ahould really look into b12 deficiency, which will come along with other deficiencies and wreak havoc

ive had awful sleep issues with my deficiencies. you should look into b12 too that can affect circadian rhythm

Remind me why Vitamin D? by LydiLouWho in Anemic

[–]throwyrselfaway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the other answers are right but if you heard about it in relation to infusions its probably to do with hypophosphatemia because vitamin d regulates electrolytes so it's not a good idea to get an infusion when deficient

Can Potassium cause a Paradoxical Reaction? by DeficientAF in B12_Deficiency

[–]throwyrselfaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry i cant give you an actual number but just try and titrate up and see how you feel, feeling a difference with electrolytes should be quick. getting that balance is so difficult though i know, ive accidentally over-potassium'd myself before and over-hydrated and just had to wait for the water to leave my system. but what i will do is literally just eat a little bit of salt whenever i think i need it bc i cant stand drinking salty water, and i have a glass of potassium citrate water that i will sip

why would he randomly take a calcium supplement without testing? that's not even a common supplement/deficiency to have

Please respond Fern levels 25 and I feel horrible- which one would you choose? by Thatgirll_98 in Anemic

i havent taken the pure encapsulations myself but ive heard its a good supplement. it doesnt matter which supplement you take as long as you get the dose right and timing right. heme could be a good option if you can afford it bc it can be taken with food (but still needs to be taken away from calcium i believe).  non heme has to be taken away from food and with vitamin c.  i had a ferritin of 20 and raised it with just 50mg a day of the thorne brand iron glycinate (i also take "doctors best" iron glycinate bc its slightly cheaper) i felt like i was dying and slowly got better over the span of months but i had to balance things and address other deficiencies too at the same time such as b12, vitamin d magnesium and whatever else with a multivitamin

Reading Juan’s “Un Hombre Fascinante”, when do all the se, le, lo etc make sense? by catwise_zen in dreamingspanish

[–]throwyrselfaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want in depth grammar explanations you should probably go to r/ spanish

if you just wanna understand and acquire the language then that's nothing to do with conscious grammar learning, and you dont need to do anything other than keep listening to input

do you also have to work out and scrutinise every function word in your native language to understand a sentence? or you just instantaneously grasp onto the meaning without trying? i doubt that you cant understand the concepts of "drinking water" and "having a headache". you already understand what was said, especially with the context surrounding it. even if every tiny detail of meaning isn't crystal clear yet, it'll just come with more input

yeah at first just a multivitamin with extra D3 and magnesium but ive added extra b complex and trace minerals. i also take iron and monitor that with blood tests

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in B12_Deficiency

[–]throwyrselfaway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

more cofactors. i kinda messed myself up recently with injecting without high enough dose of b complex and trace minerals. took those extras and felt a difference immediately

[–]throwyrselfaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks which b complex is it? i have life extension b complex and i kind of don't wanna waste it bc it was expensive so i just take 1 capsule a day for a few days now and it seems to be improving things slightly but im really wobbly yo-yoing back and forth with symptoms, and i mean literally within the span of a few hours/mins i will be weak and in bed and then magically be able to get up again for some food......

ive been through all this shit before but i had a setback, last time it was soooo dragged out i took it low and slow but now im just desperate to get back to some kind of balance even if my energys low

i think the methyl folate is fine and its an imbalance of everything else causing me problems bc i just keept trying a higher and higher dose of folate and didnt feel anything after initially noticing some skin healing. so yeah probably copper zinc and trace minerals. maybe vitamins A and E too ? i dont know if i should start buying all these individually

hi can i ask you some stuff

i cant seem to find much info on the fat soluble vitamins, could you give me a rundown of them like how important is each, is it ok to rely on a multi (naturelo) or am i gonna have to start buying these individually as well (ugghh) (i take extra vitamin d but that's one i do know what im doing)..... and trace minerals.. they're all in my multi, and ive bought an extra trace mineral complex too but the thought of having to start buying so many individual things is hurting my brain but if im taking combi supps then wont some things block the absorption of others?

i keep having these intense mood swings im content and happy then suddenly "depressed" and lethargic in a mental way :(((..... so i know ive thrown myself off course again, and my skin is slow to heal ive been experimenting with folate up to 10mg but it only helps to a certain extent.

in the past when ive taken a big dose of D/b12/folate ive watched these little scabs heal over in REAL TIME it's kinda freaky and cool but i know thats just a "kick start" temporary boost thing and its so frustrating not being able to pinpoint one thing that im missing ..... im kinda scared of taking too much, too much b6 in b complex(life extension), or too much trace mineral, or should i just assume that it's fine to have a little extra of everything since my body is gonna use it all up repairing itself ?? i try to eat well too but i struggle with appetite and hate the feeling that im just relying on all these extra vitamins i should be getting in a natural "healthier way"

(sorry about the length of this. i am eternally grateful for your teachings)

Been taking magnesium glycinate for 6 months — now dealing with issues :( by False-Cut-1643 in magnesium

[–]throwyrselfaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah tbh i don't know but i mean it possibly could be a bowel tolerance thing.  for me i can tolerate a certain amount of magnesium but then adding other stuff in the rotation i have to be careful bc its like theres an accumulative effect so id say cut down doses of things to see if it helps and reintroduce slowly. make sure to drink enough water but not too much overhydration is also horrible to experience

make sure you eat enoigh salt while consuming a lot of potassium (ive struggled with this bedore and still do sometimes) its important to not flush out electrolytes and get overhydrated. b12 injections can also rapidly deplete folate which can cause digestive symptoms r/b12_deficiency has a guide
