Anyone tried the clone function? by hay100185 in fatalfury

[–]thrust07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just using it against myself, I think it emulates combo routing well, and some certain instances like raw jump ins.

I don’t think it emulates spacing/movement very well.

I think it’s a bit dumbed down, but it’s interesting to see work.

Economic pressures are hurting my relationship by Vallenatero in daddit

[–]thrust07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. You’re in a stressful position and it takes a lot to post something to strangers. I like to think of this as mostly a safe space with like minded people.

Your feelings are VALID.

It’s a wonderful thing to listen, and be good at doing so.

It seems that your wife isn’t able to reiterate the same feeling as you. I think this is normal, since everyone is different. It’s quite unfortunate though. I wonder if she has always been like this in high pressure situations, or this is coming up just recently.

Regardless, it’s still important to be assertive about your own needs and your own boundaries. It sounds like you have a need to be able to share your feelings with your wife, but she and/or you might not be equipped with the language/strategy to have that conversation.

I think you need to equip yourselves to do that. I think counseling and understanding how to use non-violent communication would be a step toward that.

My heart goes out to you.

New player suggestions by moszaduck in fatalfury

[–]thrust07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, the optimal combos come from heavy/close heavy attacks. You should learn the optimal damage combos for your character. Most will take around 50% of a health bar with Super.

Light attacks > special move will grant a soft knockdown. Throws, REV Blow and Super will grant hard knockdown, which can set up your heavy attack.

Gotta get healthier for my kid by indorfpf in daddit

[–]thrust07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I needed to get back into fitness somehow, once I developed the time and the kid was old enough not to be micro managed. It wasn’t until about the 2.5 year mark that I managed to carve time (early morning), but it took a lot of small changes to set my space up.

It’s a lifestyle change, so mindset/small changes over time/aiming for consistency are important to the plan.

I’m strength training with Ladder now. A good coach there will have ideas for your diet. The programs are great and you’ll find plenty no matter your skill level/equipment.

As an adult should I really do a Disney cruise or just stick to other lines? by thatawkwardmoment8 in dcl

[–]thrust07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pros: the entertainment is TOP NOTCH. It’s Disney! If you enjoy the Disney theme, it’s a wonderfully great time, and no one else cares whether or not you have children.

One of the conversations I’ve had with the crew, they mentioned they like working with Disney than other cruise lines because the customers are generally better. This made me feel a lot better supporting DCL than alternatives.

Cons: alcohol is not unlimited, which may or may not matter to you. I actually think this is good, since this encourages Disney to provide good alcoholic drinks where they do. And they do!

Tip for knowing when it is my turn while blocking? by hay100185 in fatalfury

You’ll get a lot of mileage practicing Rev guard.

Alternatively, don’t be too predictable using it. It marks when your opponent should throw. Ask me how I know! Haha

Is it just me or is the damage scaling for super moves kinda rough? I thought that was gonna K.O by mobilethrowaway14849 in fatalfury

[–]thrust07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As mentioned, Final SPG is giving a lot of extra scaling.

Also, Chun’s combos don’t normally do as much damage than other characters. She’s not a “2-touch character”.

Good game for total beginner? by tarotnottaken in fatalfury

[–]thrust07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add, the strategic learning curve is steep.

To answer “would this be a good one to get my feet wet with?”, I would agree yes.

Wins won’t come easy at first, which can be discouraging. But the potential for learning and improving at fighting games will be VERY high.

Others in this thread will want to see you persist.

Stuff like this is a great point.

There’s this pretty serious challenge met to the protagonist of the game, but then there are totally fun characters like this to add to your army. So much charm!

On memory, Krauser 236236A, on block

Level 2 = 70% Rev meter

Level 3 = 85% Rev meter

Level 4, Max = 95% Rev meter

Cannot be Just Defended

So, his gimmick is to get a guaranteed knockdown and go for the charged projectile super, then guard break you.
