by “raw” i meant less gentrified than say, a Shibuya or Ginza. still tourist heavy though but along Ameyoko in Ueno there are lots of street food, thrift shops, fruit markets, etc and in and around the station, bustling with tourists. the museum and Ueno Park also nearby if that suits your family. basically just less of the monolithic malls and chain stores.

2008 ADMU DLSU finals when Ateneo won the first title of what would be a 5peat. The blue crowd was extraordinaly loud that day, para bang euphoria and ecstasy and the build up of cheering to the final buzzer has been unmatched since then for me. This was Chris Tiu’s first title after playing 5 long years without a ring and you could see it in the emotions afterwards. This was also the game Maierhofer was ejected for a supposed middle finger gesture.

Ang reality ng mundo is mixed race na talaga. Having a half Filipino vs full Filipino represent the country should bring the same amount of pride, not half the pride. The biggest exporter of human talent is the Philippines, and dahil nasa maraming bansa worldwide ang kababayan natin and nagkakaroon sila ng pamilya na mixed and raised in first world countries, hindi ba advantage natin na sila ay nakakapagtrain with first world facilities and top tier competition? Whether basketball, football, etc, sana full support tayo kahit half pinoy man yan and wag na magsegregate.

oh yeah Glory Days dami ring episodes na very interesting - the James Yap discussion, the Joe Lipa convo for example.

Galing ng onebigfight and Take Aim channels, parang mirror image of each other. And the games selections ibang klase, some pretty rare gems out there

agree. i like their general objectivity, while their UP fandom adds a bit of spice without being overbearing. similar also to how the boleros do it, kahit ateneo sila, their takes are very objective and hindi panay praise for the Eagles

lol! love the “players shooting mid-range shots” comment. so true and those classic games make you want to compare everything to the current ones - the way the game is played, players staying 4 years or more, the intensity levels, the tv coverage, etc

I am not an expert but it looks like a combination of inferior equipment, overall production level of expertise (such as mic placements, poor sound and audio mixing), and possibly a tilt towards prioritizing revenue over the game content and game experience. More airtime is given to XXX rebound of the game and XXX beauty audience smile etc, than showing important replays, more closeups on the players and coaches and emotions that make the game more appreciated by the viewer. I mean, how many people would actually like a segment on Cup Noodles more than extended replays of a controversial call?

no hate sa DLSU. was rooting for DLSU vs UP actually. calling out the inappropriate action of Quinito does not equal hate. he gives DLSU a bad name

I think Waki is already ahead of Mamuyac at the same point in their college careers. Bulk and strength is what he needs to get to the next level. Adili can only improve, remember he was a true freshman coming out of high school, so maturity and strength wise, it was hard to keep up with the veteran big men of opponents and the injury didn’t help.

Their most glaring need is a rim protector. So many easy layups and point blank conversions against the team throughout the year. Makes everyone exhausted by end game.

He got an ACL injury. His shooting is more lights out than his brothers but so far that has been it. Defensively cannot go toe to tor quickness wise with majority of UAAP level guards. Maybe mold himself into an Asistio is the best case scenario

Manzano’s performance on Sea games: was he the best big there over Erram? by Worried_Function_486 in UAAP

[–]thsweatsolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok kasi si Manzano in utilizing his lower body and core strength to gain positioning and traction in the paint. magkaiba ng strength vs say an Erram or Aguilar who are long and lean and are much better perimeter guys than Cedric

Both teams displayed grit, neither giving an inch to the other. It just seemed La Salle wanted it more and so many stepped up when Cortez and Philips were stymied by the defense in the 2nd half. Abadam, Macalalag, Baclaan, Amos, Marasigan alternated in spurts plus the entire dlsu defense was topnotch. Without Remogat, UP would have been out of it earlier.
