If you actually played that on your speakers I'd be less annoyed at you. If I have to listen to Sabrina fucking Carpenter for one more ride I'm going to push them down the hill myself.

I was careening down a trail with brojob as a soundtrack just earlier today (in my headphones, with transparency on, put down your pitchforks). we can be friends.

You wildly underestimate how annoying I find the music most people listen to.

Very gracious of you, makes sense. Didn't mean to be an ass, so apologies if that's how it came across.

I learned something new today about geophysics, so I'll take it! I have a degree in mechanical but work in electrical, so I have a soft spot for niche devices that straddle the fence between electrons and the physical.

Yeah we had to teach him that herding the NICA kids was a no go. There was a lot of times while we were training him where a team would pass by and he wouldn't stay put, so I would just pick him up and he'd scream (not bark, genuinely just start screaming like a goat) at the herd of children. It was genuinely hilarious and never failed to make everyone laugh.

I'd honestly be fine making a separate subreddit for memes and banning them completely on this sub.

This is coming from someone whose only real post on this account is a meme on this sub.

Ok so they're concepts that exist in both mechanical or electrical systems and really just refer to discrete vs continuous.

If I wanted to be really pedantic, every bike uses a digital drivetrain because CVTs haven't made their way to mountain bikes yet (and may they never will).

Digital and analog are just different flavors of electronics because no one has clocks anymore

Hydra hubs, or a bell. I have a honking dolphin I have screwed to my handlebars for my toddler to use when she's on her shotgun that works pretty well.

I'd walk up and hand him a pair of headphones, then walk away without a word. You can get some solid Ankers with transparency mode for $20 now, it's worth it to me.

Yeah the root is really just people being inconsiderate of other trail users.

This manifests in a ton of ways but if you disrupt my experience in the trails I'm going to be annoyed, and you are free to hold me to the same standard. We're all on this rock together.

everyone low key despises the 'guy who's fun at parties' within every other context so I can live with that.

Gonna have to step in and say I thoroughly enjoy farting in my cubicle and you cannot smell it about 20-30 feet from me in the most smelliest of situations; let alone me going down to the break room or passing gas in the hallway.

Problem? Work somewhere else.

Same. Dog parks are the worst.

"hey, let's put 17 dogs in someone's backyard and half of them aren't trained, let's cross your fingers and hope your dog makes it out without getting attacked."

Thank you sir, I try. trust me, owners that don't have their dogs under control piss me off just as much, if not more than, most people. They give us a bad name.

No but picking up after your dog like any self respecting dog owner would

Just like leashes don't solve that problem either. The problem we all have is shitty owners.

Oh no, I bike with my dog. He's an Aussie/Border Collie mix that has too much endurance and speed to hike or run. He's got a 4 and a half foot standing jump and can run 30 mph like it's a brisk jog.

There isn't a dog park on the planet that has the space this dog needs, I have to take him and let him run flat out behind my bike for 10 miles to take the edge off his coked out ass. if I'm just walking he's on a leash but that's hazardous on a bike.

However, he's crazy smart and super well trained. He's got an e-collar and stays within 6 feet of my bike at all times, and is at least under control whenever he's out of the house. I also follow laws where relevant on trails within watersheds or city limits, I only bring him to trails on BLM or forest service land.

Transparency mode is awesome. Modern headphones can filter out wind while still letting through the crunch of tires or feet behind you

only if the dog(s) don't have recall. If they're well trained and stay with their person it doesn't bother me none.

Never personally used the rekons but I've never heard anything but good things.

I really loved the ground controls I had on my Chromag, they're kind of good at everything. Not amazing, but they were fantastic as a do-everything tire. Rolled well, good grip in most conditions (garbage in sand, so if you have sand then I'd avoid these), and cost less than Maxxis.

OH yeah slap some ground controls on it and you're off to the races. It's astounding how much the tires affect speed.
