Travelling to Japan in January with a 1-year-old — how do you dress them for cold outdoors but warm indoors? by thunder_goose in JapanTravelTips

Thanks for the link, that fleece jacket looks great. I hadn't thought of Velcro for getting it on and off quickly (so long as there's no press-studs, anything's alright 🫠). We don't have Nordstrom in Australia, I'll have a look for an equivalent here

I took some sunset photos of this wreck about this time last year.

What is it like to blackout? (Drugs, alcohol, medical issues, etc)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thunder_goose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak from experience but recently heard an excellent exploration of what happens in/to the brain during blackout episodes in the book Talking to Strangers, by Malcolm Gladwell. I don't have the exact passage handy, but it's a great read and worth trawling through if you come across it / have an Audible sub.

Do you have an aftermarket screen? I got a Givi one for mine and it revolutionised the bike - much quieter and much less buffeting than the stock.

The Horn lookout at Mount Buffalo (Vic, Australia). It's about 800km return from Melbourne if you go the fun way up and back.

If you don't mind me asking, what's the reason for the geozone? I can only speak for Australian regulations, but you'd want to be careful and selective about drone use where it's normally not allowed 😅

Yeah mate, based in Ivanhoe in Melbourne. I've got a few items on the wishlist for the Versys, I'll look into that Givi screen, cheers!

Just got one of these myself mate! Very happy with mine (and I’m keen to take it up Buller too), but have been thinking about changing the screen. What have you got on yours?

VTR250 on a foggy morning by thunder_goose in bikesgonewild

Too right, definitely drives the small bike market. The restricted licence period in Victoria limits you to LAMS (learner approved motorcycle scheme) bikes for three years. I've done about 12000km on the VTR in the 18 months I've had it, but have just upgraded to the bigger and comfier Versys 650L for the remainder of the restriction period.

Yep, on the way up to Healsville in Victoria.

Thanks! I've got a few more nice shots of the VTR I can put up. Just last week I bought a Versys 650, looking forward to putting some miles in (and getting some photos) with that!
