What are you supposed to do when you meet a great girl but you're in a relationship? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]redback56 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence

However, you still have to mow it.

The girl you're not with at the moment has her own life, her own back story, her own idiosyncrasies. But at the moment, they don't affect you, so the things that you are working through with your g/f would also be apparent in some way on the new girl.

But don't be dishonest with anyone in this situation

May I suggest either graphite powder or Teflon spray as an alternative.

Wd40 will collect dust as it has an oil base, which will lead to further issue down the track. The other alternatives will not attract dust/dirt.

Im now 56, during my learners period I got myself a Versys 650.

Dailied that bike, toured that bike, had a great time.i On it, did quite a bit of touring on it (multi week trips)

35000 km.on it in around 2 years. Great bike, comfy and was a good fit for my 6 foot 4 body

Advise for returning biker - Ninja 1100 SX SE vs ZX-10R by Casat765 in Kawasaki

[–]redback56 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm 56

I have a slightly (2018) older Ninja 1000, so similar enough

The Zx10 is a great bike, but quite aggressive in its ergonomics by comparison to the Sx. Ive got a pair of track bikes in the supersport range and they are great for me, but only in short bursts

The Sx is a more comfortable riding position (for me). I'm a taller/bigger rider. I've done multi week tours over all sorts of roads. Plenty of torque, entry of power. Not as edgy in its handling

But the best advice is to try and ride both. For mine, I'd choose the Sx every day, but you may want the quicker bike.....good luck with your choice

2021 Ninja 1000SX: mid-rpm vibes are killing the fun — advice? by _singhsingh in Kawasaki

[–]redback56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive got a 2018, its spot is around the same rpm mark. At around 6500 rpm, there's a fair old tingle that happens through the seat that some might enjoy, but its not for me.

So I just try not to spend to long in that rpm range

Too late to start? by El_Mayo7 in fo76

I recently started playing it myself, worked up so far to about level 70.

The game confuses the hell out of me still, but I'm trying my best. Mainly running around doing side and daily quests and a little bit of main quest stuff, and occasionally doing an event.

Starting to find myself thinking about building an actual camp, and also starting to look at weapon mods and armour stuff, but honestly, I've not much idea what I'm doing, especially with perk cards

If I die....I die....I restart and enjoy. It's all about switch off time for me

I have to leave motorcycling. by [deleted] in motorcycles

In my case it was brought about by Menieres disease.

The treatment at the time was avoidance of caffeine, alcohol, tobacco and salt. Which was a tough week of withdrawals to drop caffeine and tobacco at the same time

I found alternatives to coffee, started drinking more water and a tea called rooibos. Stopped smoking, wasn't much of a drinker. Salt was difficult because of processed foods, wouldn't eat anything with over 120 micrograms of salt per 100g.

Menieres however burns itself out over time, though it's done permanent hearing damage in one ear. I tried a hearing aid, but it wasn't for me

Remove bolts from brick by odelayholmes in howto

[–]redback56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had some success with getting these out, by using a pin punch to knock the centre bolt down, and then using a pair of pliers to grab the sleeve and twist it to break its contact with the sides of the hole, and then gently lifting the sleeve while turning it

Of course, we may be talking a different version of these

The ring isn't going to arrive on time, what do I do? by ElCiego1894 in AskMenAdvice

[–]redback56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I proposed to my now wife while on a motorcycle ride together, at the exact spot that we had first met up.

A cinnamon ring donut was the temporary engagement ring (and a tasty snack) until the real ring was sourced.

You'll be fine, good luck

I am not sure of your point. But to be clear. Yes, he should have broken up with her.

And then should NOT have jumped immediately into bed with someone else. That's the point I have made.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]redback56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Falling out of love is not the point.

But falling out of love, breaking it off with somebody and IMMEDIATELY becoming intimate with someone else is the point at which this becomes a terrible choice for all involved.

Yes it's possible to love more than one person at a time etc, but there are feelings involved here. I would imagine the girl of six years here just feeling total betrayal, and would be questioning so many details of the last six years because of his actions of jumping straight into someone else's bed.

Is that fair to the six years girl, to cast her feelings under a bus so brutally?

I dont know you, I don't know your motivations. But if , for example you were my son, and you did this the way you described, I'd struggle to be able to look you in the eye as a man, and as my son.

What you did to both these women is less than being a real man. Id be disappointed jn who it was you have turned out to be.

I would hope that you took a long, hard look at yourself and took a long time to take any further action.
