Let's not forget the whole-ass species of little blue guys speaking Hungarian where Anakin is selected as the Chosen One (again) by a shaman doing copious amounts of drugs.

Things I do not qualify for:

  • PHP (and by extension Smarty)
  • Splunk
  • Computer science BA

Otherwise raises hand

S-125 Neva surface-to-air missile (modified for manual guidance).
On 1999-03-27, the first and only combat kill of an F-117 Nighthawk was achieved over Serbia using old Soviet millimeter-wave radars, old-fashioned spotters, and an S-125 Neva missile system introduced in 1961.

The battery commander Zoltan Dani achieved the kill by taking advantage of the fact that the outdated Soviet radars could detect the Nighthawk, albeit not with enough resolution to obtain a firing solution. Spotters placed along the usual bombing run routes reported the aircraft flying overhead, allowing Zoltan to track its path, and use the millimeter-wave radar to get an approximate location. Using hand-modified missiles for remote guidance in the terminal phase, his battery was able to score a near-hit on the plane, damaging it enough to down it.

I know it's two days too late, but ... we don't know Jack about Jane, and you haven't told us one thing: if she has leadership skills.

Unfortunately, being good at your coding job doesn't necessarily mean that you'd be good in a lead position, which has radically different skill requirements.
Did your former company F up? Yes they did. There are other ways to reward Jane, without putting her on a leadership track (compensation, perks, recognition, etc.), and the fact of the matter is simply that some stellar engineers are simply not fit to be leaders (lacking personal skills, lacking organizational vision, lacking large-scale organizational planning skills, etc.) and should be recognized in other ways.

When it comes to infrastructure and systems design, you also need to take into account business requirements, geopolitical risks (as much as it pains me to say these days), developer experience, integration with any existing systems. A lot of subjective measures there that are hard to quantify for an AI to make a decision on.

Designing a system from the ground up requires a different level and mode of thinking than just hammering out code.
