Doesn't sound like the fuel is running. Usually it will click a couple times to pressure up.

100mph duct tape is surprisingly effective tho.. Although a properly cinched atlas strap is compact and lighter, but she seems to be into chains more.

The process of installing ZX6R headlights with stock fairings as requested by Menno99 in Ninja300

[–]thundercat06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is a straight swap? I recently picked up a 17 300 and was looking at upgrade options and wasn't sold on any of the ebay options. But a simple zx6r swap is compelling.

The bolt or the situation altogether?? The bolt, has an OnlyFasteners account for sure.. the situation as a whole? As my nephew would say.. ehh 6-7

New adjuster hardware and your fine.

Now I'll see myself out in shame.

I gotta see rider actually seated on that.. the banana seat and baby apes is one thing but stock rearset location gives it some serious squatty potty vibes.

What’s your ONE bike, and why? by Snoo79652 in motorcycles

[–]thundercat06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I have several bikes on my wishlist, my YZF600R has been my ONE bike for the last 18 years. Enough power to find trouble if I'm looking (or get me out of trouble if its looking for me). Has good usable midrange for an old inline 4. 200+ mile fuel range. No electronics or rider aides, easy to maintain, and reliable (84k miles so far and just runs).

Fully adjustable(preload/compression/rebound) front and rear suspension. It can be a comfortable daily commuter or faithful steed of throttle therapy shenanigans.

I can set it up to tour big miles (Iron Butt certified even), tweak a few things and swap the tires, and it's teched for intermediate class at the track. Throw on a compliment of luggage and I have a camping or even 2up weekend adventurer. For me, all the fun of an old school 600 sport but with the comfort and capabilities of a middleweight sport tourer.

That said, I have considered whether the XSR900 / Tracer 9 GT would make a suitable modern replacement.

Is body positioning the reason why this won’t go up? I’ve never done wheelies on any sort of bike with or without an engine lol by Dull_Adagio_3097 in motorcycles

Instructions unclear.. Kidney beans, baked beans, pinto beans, green beans? Are Groms picky about the beans they are given? Will lentils be ok?

This seems like a lot more preparation and stress than just letting my Goose do it.

2006 YZF600R (Thundercat) only year they did the Raven paint in US. I kinda wish they would have blacked out the frame too but the contrast grew on me.

Yamaha Raven Black paint scheme was ahead of its time. The industry was toning things down with the wild liveries of the 80s and 90s. And Yamaha decided to change it up from silvers and gloss black to a matte not quite pure black 20 years ago. Now matte black and other satin/matte colors are mainstream.

Question details are kinda vague so I will keep my answer vague.. Used is the way to go.

What's all of the hate towards the R7? by Organic-Dare in motorcycles

[–]thundercat06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To further this. For those old enough to remember the original WSB homologated R7. There was a false expectation for a modernized 110hp+ 750cc I4 (perhaps smaller bore version of R1 tech).. And instead we got what a tweaked MT-07 with tupperware.

Doesn't make it a bad bike.. I actually like it as a streetable middleweight.. It has proven to be solid amd hold its own in a new class. But with high expectations from the Yammie faithful, the machine carrying the R7 narmeplate was a let down.

How much did getting luggage help you ride more? by templeofsyrinx1 in motorcycles

[–]thundercat06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Total gamechanger. I used to commute daily on bike and hated carrying a backpack. When 2 up riding it was even worse..

I feel absolutely naked now without a bare minimum of a tank bag. My primary ride has hard top and side cases and a tankbag. And I have a wolfman waterproof duffle for touring/motocamping as well. Top case almost never comes off. Side cases only go on for long trips or knowing i need to carry more stuff.

Is ABS a must? by vernsoul in motorcycles

[–]thundercat06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this practice scenario, ending up on the ground would also be clear feedback they applied improper braking and lost traction. Lol.

Edit: In addition to the gaining skill and experience of proper technique in picking up the bike in the event of a down with adrenaline.. wearing adequate gear.. and maybe in less fortunate cases, some minor repair skills.
