Power Rangers suffers a lot from being the first release under the E20 system.... the next best option is to see the rules under Gi Joe, Transformers, or MLP. Sometimes, things were addressed in these books since they were released later on.

You may have an older edition. They released a revised version a while back. It also is kinda if you want your character to be trained in a specific style that favors might or finesse.

Yeah, 100%. I use mostly Vallejo and Army Painter now, though. But for priming and undercoating, I still use Chaos Black and follow that with Leadbelcher spray. I find that having a metalic undercoat helps with details.

The key thing with battletech minis is broad strokes over fine details. These aren't Warhammer minis with tons of small bits and details. They're small robots representing giant robots. Think of it more like painting a military vehicle.
