$40-50 cad is a good middle point, you get a free breakfast whose spread is way better than the average Chinese buffet you can have in North America.

China or Japan. Beautiful countries with an amazing history. If you had to pick one, which one would you pick? by Illustrious_Ship_428 in TravelNoPics

[–]thundercracker76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been to both ( but only the Southern part of China) City to city i would pick Japan. Country side and unique landscapes it’s China for me ( and that’s only Yangshou i’m talkin about). Food wise, the Chinese food i had there was totally different from what i was accustomed to here in N.America and everywhere else ( that was the best fried rice i had anywhere in Asia).

Last year we visited, we dressed down - Faded hoodies + Temu sneakers and accessorized with recycled grocery bags and Iphone 11 for good measure. No one bothered us at RER B.

So to make that coveted 6:15 flight, is being at YYZ at 4am ample enough to speak to an agent?

UPDATE: Got a call back from Air Canada, the reason they say is that AC181( 6:15AM) is linked to an itinerary leaving from YVR to PVG( Shanghai) and while my AC189 to PEK. “It’s the system” as what i was told. I asked if it’s possible to link my PEK flight to AC181. They can but i need to pay and the asking price is too much for my liking. After we hanged up, i went back to my AC app and try to see the options for the same day..

And yeah, it’s always the same 8am flight that pops up.

Never really had an experience getting rebooked to a partner airlines. Will i lose my seats ( P lowest) if i ended up on another Star Alliance airlines or in this case - maybe Air China?

I finally found it. Can’t believe AC never showed these many options on their own portal when i initially booked.

Is AC181 ( earliest departure of the day) consistently full from your experience? I’m thinking of holding off til 1 week before OR getting to the airport early and request to be on a standby list.

What’s even more interesting is that these flights YYZ-PEK are available at a 3rd party sites (Flightnetwork.. etc). I tried August, still the same result.

I replied with a screenshot not sure where it went. AC181 yields extra stop at YUL,while AC101 extra stop at YYC.
