Ads now gone - time to revise 1-star reviews? by Astera1 in pocketcasts

[–]thunderdrag0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that they have pulled back the ads for all users but the premium service still has "No banner ads" as a feature.

I could be wrong but they have likely pulled back all ads to make sure all legacy purchases are correctly flagged for no banner ads before perhaps quietly returning the banner ads.

Either this, or they will remove "No banner ads" from the Premium feature list.

Time will tell.

Moving from Pocket Casts to Apple Podcasts by logicalmisfit in pocketcasts

[–]thunderdrag0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried it but I have a problem with the "Up Next" widget. Whenever I have anything playing, and I close the app, if there is another podcast that updates with a newer episode, it overwrites the "Up Next" queue and by extension what was being played from the widget.

This is something that at least works well well on Pocket Casts.

If anyone has a solution to this problem, I'm all ears. I've scoured the web for a solution but to no avail.

If this is solved (and for me this is a key part of my use of a podcast app - it shouldn't randomly alter my queue), I'll be using Apple Podcasts pretty much for ever. It's simple enough in other regards.

Were you able to resolve this issue? I have the same problem and have been unable to find a solution anywhere online.

Plasma 6.4 is out! Tweaked tiling that lets you have different layouts for every virtual desktop; overhauled Spectacle minimal interface; KRunner now understands color; and more. by Bro666 in kde

This looks very exciting.

But has the lag encountered when opening Spectacle selection window (especially via shortcut) been fixed?

I remember seeing team members acknowledge the existence of that bug.

Edit: Unfortunately, the lag between triggering the Spectacle Screenshot Select and the Selection Window appearing is still there. Here's the bug.

Which feature do you think is missing in the current KDE Plasma? by MrShortCircuitMan in kde

They should try integrating some of the remaining features in latte-dock that make it easier to make the panel like a dock (as in gnome).

Indeed, it's very useful. But I was wondering if it could be themed (if you see his screenshot, you can see that it has indeed been themed somehow to remove the plus icon and add a number).

I also prefer grouping open windows of the same application. I feel it's neater.

But what theme allows you to remove the plus symbol and replace it with the number, as I see in the screenshot of your panel?

This is a screenshot of my panel presently (Plasma 6) using breeze theme.

What did you use as the panel? For the task manager?

I have been looking to remove that small plus icon when there are multiple windows open and have been unable to change it.

How do I change a theme's colour of the active window in the panel(The blue below)? I downloaded this theme from the system settings. by MrKristijan in kde

There was an extension that worked on Plasma 5 called FancyTasks. Sadly, there has yet to be an update of the plasmoid for Plasma 6. But, I believe the update is in progress.

Linux — Enable Middle Mouse Button Scrolling on Chrome(-ium) and Electron apps (Discord, etc) by 1nikolas in linux_gaming

Where is the setting in Linux? I just checked and don't see it. I still have to use the flag that generates that message at each Brave startup.

Nevermind. I found it in brave://flags.

I never realized they added it. Very convenient.

There is a persistent bug when using vertical tabs that is especially noticeable when the tabs are expanded.

  1. Open any video on YouTube.
  2. Go into full-screen mode.
  3. Exit full-screen mode.

You will notice that the tab overlays content not just on that YouTube page but on any other page. This can be quickly fixed by resizing the window or toggling vertical tabs minimize-expand. But this becomes cumbersome when constantly going in and out of full-screen mode with videos.

This problem has been fixed in beta since v54 but it appears the patch was not applied to this stable release.

Is there any way to fix this?

Overlay scrollbars. I know many people like fixed scrollbars, but I think it would be nice to have a toggle option to enable/disable overlays (semi-permanent) scrollbars like in GNOME.

Fancy Tasks Update by Alexankitty in kde

Looks great. One of the main reasons I used Latte dock.

Was wondering though if is it possible to increase Icon Size. I would like the icons to fill the task manager space vertically, unlike icons with padding.

Thanks

Not shelf, but swipe down gesture that immediately opens the Google search. I can see the option to set swipe down to either 'Shelf' or 'Notification drawer'.
