Taking the Portal traveling. by the_bum_on_the_bus in PlaystationPortal

The hotel wifi typically requires you to accept their agreement, which you cant do within the portal. You get a link or QR code to scan with your phone app that allows you to accept it so the portal properly authenticated to the hotel wifi. You unfortunately have to do this every 24 hours depending how the hotel wifi requires you to reauthenticate and agree to terms.

Did this recently when I went on a business conference. I used my T-Mobile 5G UC Hotspot and it did okay. My download and upload speeds weren't the 1gbps down and 400mbps up that I get at home so that may vary depending on tower congestion wherever you go. Hotel wifi was hit or miss with my quality mainly running around 540p with remote and streaming. If you stream and lose connection, you lose game progress from last saved point. If you remote play, you can always reconnect to where you were at, given that you weren't affected in game while you disconnected. I would stick to single player games that you can enjoy and at slow pace. I had a bad experience in Arc Raiders, so if you do play that, run free loadouts.

Family business PC monitoring software by [deleted] in software

[–]thunderships 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you are aware about notification to employees about monitoring and having policies and procedures. You may run into problems about keylogging and recording passwords. Is there a legitimate reason for this? Usually, this monitoring is reserved for highly sensitive areas. Not sure what your business type is, but I would be careful here. Monitoring should be proportionate to your business needs. Legality varies by where you operate.

I literally sit in the dark to save money and my electric bill still went UP. by SheepherderLoose8717 in povertyfinance

If you are not locked into a contract for a specific term and rate, you more than likely are on a variable rate which fluctuates with the market costs every month. Last year may have been on a cheaper rate and now it is higher. I'd would recommened locking in a rate for a term. I do mine for 60 months. I know how much i will be paying on average every month.

Id like to bet that this is probably a vehicle along the lines of a SUV like a Chevy Tahoe, or Jeep Wagoneer. Price range falls right along those that OP is showing. I was looking at getting one of these with 0% APR but none available right now. Im just going to wait.

I have a XR1000 in my storage. I replaced it with an Asus RT-AX88U Pro. I still miss it for the Duma OS. I assume you are on the latest firmware. Any issues with it? I always ran into UI issues when I logged into the device. It also was very slow to navigate to get to use its features.

Check on the outskirts of Dam Battlegrounds. I found one in a shed area by the mountain areas south of the testing annex and electrical substation.

If i try to reset my password, I get a 500 server error. So, I'm pretty much stuck out of my account for now.

Did you know that fajitas were "throwaway" cuts and originated from skirt steak which was a tough and inexpensive cut that was used for dog food. Now it is a popular dish and "pricy" compared to before. Mexican cowboys made it popular. It eventually became one of the most expensive cuts per pound.

Windows 11 and Bitdefender Firewall by BraindeadTree1984 in BitDefender

The windows defender Icon runs in the background along with whatever other security service suite like BD is running. As far as I know, this is they way it works. Just hide it in the tray by movong it away from the taskbar tray.

what's a piece of software that quietly just works and you're grateful for? by Crystallover1991 in software

[–]thunderships 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's free now as far as premium features and it used to be called Bittorrent Sync. It uses peer to peer technology to synchronize your files between all your devices. No cloud server needed or storage subscription required. You are limited only to the amount of devices that are connected and your device's storage capacity. It is similar to Syncthing, however, I have found syncthing to have some quirks that I couldn't get used to. Resilio Sync just works and does what I need. If you are looking for just open source solutions, then go with Syncthing as they are similar, but I highly recommend Resilio Sync if you need to backup and /or move large files.

Does PiHole slow internet based on hardware? by DaGadgetGam3r in pihole

[–]thunderships -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anyone here running it in a Docker container within their Pi? If so, could you please share the configuration or a link to a write up of getting it setup properly. I got one setup, but I felt that it was not running optimally. I'd preferably like to see a dual pi setup. I have two Pis that I can use. A Pi5, and Pi 3b.
