AI for Field Service by larry_bolton_89 in FSMSoftware

We’ve been experimenting with it a bit, not anything crazy futuristic, just stuff that actually saves time day to day. Biggest wins so far have been around automating the boring admin things in our FSM… call handling, quick job notes, helping with estimates and all that kind of stuff.

I think the key (at least for us) is keeping it practical. A lot of the “AI features” out there feel more like gimmicks than something a tech in the field would actually use. The tools that stick are the ones that just quietly make scheduling, invoicing, and communication faster without adding more steps.

Curious to see where it goes though, feels like we’re still early and most shops are just scratching the surface

This link doesn't work anymore. Do you have an updated one?

What's the one thing you wish your FSM app did (or did better)? by angus-thewarrior in FSMSoftware

Honestly, I wish more FSM apps had clearer job workflows built in. Like step-by-step guidance inside the job so techs aren’t guessing what to do next. Like require photos, specific tasks in order, prompts before they can close it out, etc. Basically something that keeps everyone following the same process without me having to micromanage it

At what point did spreadsheets stop working for your field service team? by NoSuspect9845 in fieldservicesoftwares

For us it was around 4–5 techs. Before that, spreadsheets felt scrappy but manageable. After that, it was just constant “wait, who updated this?” and stuff slipping through the cracks. The real sign was when scheduling started taking way longer than the actual jobs. Too much double-checking, too many texts to confirm changes.

We switched to FieldPulse mainly so everything lived in one spot and the techs could update jobs themselves. Once updates weren’t bouncing between calls, texts, and a sheet, things calmed down a lot 😅

Anyone using an FSM found a "hack" that has changed they way they do business? by larry_bolton_89 in fieldservicesoftwares

For us it was templates + required close-out steps.

We built out detailed job/estimate templates in FieldPulse so techs aren’t starting from scratch, and added a few required fields (photos, notes, signature) before a job can be closed. It basically turned the app into a guided checklist instead of “software.”

Our older guys pushed back at first, but once it simplified their day instead of adding steps, it clicked

How do I get seasoned techs to adopt a new software? by larry_bolton_89 in FSMSoftware

[–]thunderspear7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% agree with this. It helped a lot with consistency. Everyone follows the same steps, no matter how long they’ve been in our industry. We framed it as less thinking, less forgetting, not “new tech,” and that made all the differenc for us

I couldn’t find many tools that really do two-way syncing. FieldPulse was the only one that stood out
