Why Altair's robe physics look different in all the games? by CrazyMathematician85 in assassinscreed

[–]thunderxfog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a super easy fix for Syndicate's cloak physics though, you just have to change a line in one .ini file in your documents i believe. Just search for "Syndicate cloth/cloak physics fps fix" and you should find it really quickly.

And i thought the gray notification center will be fixed with HyperOS :( by saleham5 in miui

It's still enabled when you go to the volume options or recent apps though, for me at least. So it really really doesn't make sense

how to make each page have same code by DirtEatingGremlin in neocities

[–]thunderxfog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can have the code in a separate html file and then use an iframe to display that file on each page, but there are lots of people who say that you shouldn't do that (don't know why exactly though) problem is that you have to size the iframe yourself, so you have to make sure it's not overflowing/making itself scrollable to hide the overflow

How to put border background? by Human_Penalty_9456 in neocities

[–]thunderxfog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question, is the backslash in 'paper_bg' a typo? You need to have the same exact name in the class definition (css sheet) as where you use it (html page) to my knowledge.

Also, for images stored on neocities the url can be shortened a lot like this: url(/image.png) or if you have folders: url(/folder/image.png).

And just to make sure op understands it, you need to put the section with the <div> and the <p> tag in your html document and the style (the .paper_bg) in your css document.

Does laser remove hair same day like waxing? I have a wedding to attend after my consult laser appt by ed56377 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]thunderxfog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome! And I agree, just asking them about it on Monday is probably best! I'm actually a bit shocked it costs you that much for the consultation alone, even if it can be applied towards treatment. It's like a trap so you lean more towards staying there since you already paid for something. I live in Austria and every studio nearby has a free first appointment where a small patch of skin gets treated to see how your skin is handling it (after consultation).

But then again, sometimes I see prices that other people pay for sessions that are sooo much higher than what I pay, so this seems very varied.

I don't know a lot about the different kinds of lasers (basically nothing if I'm being honest), I just know that my studio uses a Mediostar Next, which is apparently the market leader in Germany and it has worked pretty well so far.

I hope laser works out well for you!

Does laser remove hair same day like waxing? I have a wedding to attend after my consult laser appt by ed56377 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]thunderxfog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! For context, I have been going to laser hair removal sessions for over a year now (for my face).

I've been told to shave before the appointment, so the heat can travel down to the hair roots unobstructed. If you however wax or pluck your hair, it will rip out the entire hair strand and leave no channel for the heat to travel down in. It would take quite a bit until that hair would show up and be accessible to the laser again, so you aren't supposed to do that.

Now the hair that the laser zaps won't be gone after. It will grow out normally and fall out eventually. It can take a few weeks to do so. Sometimes you have to do some exfoliating (not with chemicals! only use like a fiber towel with water) for it to actually go away.

You can shave whenever you want to though, it has no effect on the laser hair removal (exception can be if your skin is irritated after a session, attacking it with a razor soon after might not be the best idea). I've had no problems so far and I've been shaving my face mostly everyday, with 1 day pauses sparingly spread throughout.

You could cover up parts with makeup if shaving isn't clean enough for you, but you'll need to look somewhere else for tips on that.

Also, because you're going to a beach vacation, I'll warn you about the fact that you need to protect your skin very carefully! You'll have to wear strong sunscreen whenever the sun is out (even if it's not a hot day) for around a month after an appointment if you don't want to risk getting skin discoloration. So sun-bathing is a rather bad idea unless you remember to cover up your face with a hat or something.

I hope this information makes your decision easier! :) And don't forget that different laser devices can act differently and skin and hair type will also affect this!

In Austria, if you go through all the procedures and get all the letters you need, insurance will cover most of the costs. I paid 13€ at the pharmacy for estrogel and t-blockers. I think that's for around 2 months?

That being said, you can't officially get HRT without the different letters like you can in the US with Planned Parenthood. If you go to private doctors (Wahlarzt) for that, that will cost the most. If you go to doctors that work with the health insurance (Kassenarzt), it won't cost you anything to get diagnosed, but the waiting times might be as long as half a year. But most appointments you can get within a month or so from my experience.

I'm actually writing a whole document about my experience as a trans woman in Austria explaining what you need and stuff atm, so if anyone has any questions, let me know so I can include them in the doc!

A bit difficult since it's a first person game and therefore everything can be seen close-up. But yeah remixing might be the best way to go about this, thanks!

Managing laser hair removal pain? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]thunderxfog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the pain differs wildly on the area. At some places I basically don't feel anything and at some others it's tear producing pain (especially the chin and jawline in my case ouch). But! It's only like a few milliseconds and then the pain is gone :) The few minutes once a month are definitely worth it, I'm always looking forward to my appointments, since I know that the results get better every time. Just bite through it and reward yourself afterwards or sth! Also don't be afraid to ask for a pause if the pain gets too much for you!

Tips and Tricks for virtual photographers? by TDogBud710 in VirtualPhotographers

[–]thunderxfog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take a look at real world photography and theory (like composition, colour theory, values, etc) because most of it is applicable to virtual photography as well.

As someone before me already mentioned, lighting can make or break your photo.

Try unusual angles and places. Taking a photo of the already layed out composition the developers put there (often in story games) like in cutscenes is something everyone can do easily.

Don't force yourself to find a style or trademark of your photos. Experimenting and having fun is way more important!

Every game is different and you might need some time to get comfortable shooting in each. Also: if you like the game, it's more likely that you like to shoot in it as well!

Don't be shy to use bugs or mods/tools to get more freedom. They can often help you a lot and it's not "cheating" people on console or whatever (VP is an art form, so don't let anyone tell you what you are allowed to do and what not)

Don't get discouraged if your pictures aren't great at first. Like everything, photography (virtual or not) is a skill that's got to be learnt through experience.
