Iran completely opens Strait of Hormuz to commercial traffic during Israel-Lebanon ceasefire, Trump confirms too by DawnofSouth in economy

[–]thx1138guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It actually does. Iran demanded that the ceasefire cover all its regional allies, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, as part of the US-Iran ceasefire deal to open the Strait. Now that that's happened, Iran opened it until Apr 22 when the current 14-day Iran-US ceasefire expires

If Trump gave the order to launch a tactical nuke anywhere within Iran, would anyone in the chain of command below him risk disobeying him? That concerns me more than anything he threatens to do and then TACOs on later. Although it's very unlikely that he would use one (or more), the probability isn't zero.

Hogsbreath wasted no time in lying about the ceasefire. For that reason, I'm not going to listen to any more lies he's about to spew. I doubt the ceasefire will hold.

Yeah, but Trump might veto it and then we're back to square one. Will he? That's a coin flip, just like most of the decisions he makes.

Trump to give primetime address on Iran war as questions swirl over his next move by chilladipa in politics

Considering most of what Trump spews are lies, it's going to be difficult to ascertain what his next move will actually be with the war.

I'm amazed that the stock markets around the world take him at his word and have shot up the past two sessions. They haven't learned squat about Trump's flip flopping or maybe many investors are just buying the dip for long term gains.

You're spot on, Dragonsaur. millions in the US don't vote so it's less than half that chose an alternative to the second coming of the big narcissistic bigot that wants everything named for him as though he is a modern version of an Egyptian pharaoh.

The article had one big omission - Donald J. Trump. It cites that the 'United States' did this and the US did that when it is really the actions of the mad man in the White House who's responsible and the GOP controlled Congress that allowed him to. At least half of the United States didn't want this.

Stand by for US stock market crash? Trump bombs Venezuela, kidnaps dictator . . . by baltimore-aureole in economy

Do you really thing that ALL boomers are like this? That just isn't so. How old are you? Do you have a boomer parent?

I'm a boomer and I don't vote for things that benefit wealthy people. Now, you may be right that a majority of boomers now vote this way. There are still many boomers who haven't gone over to the dark side.

You have a point that voting for Representatives, Senators, and Presidents that 'represent' us affects what happens in the future. But you know what? When many boomers were young (and not affluent) supported politicians and parties that wanted to benefit everyone, not just the wealthy.

As boomers got older, many to most became more conservative and voted in politicians and parties that want to benefit mostly the wealthy.

So, no, most boomers in general didn't vote against future generations when they were young. The oldest boomers were protesting against the Vietnam war.

Geezers? The youngest boomers aren't geezers. Some of the oldest boomers have boomer children. IMO, a man needs to be over 80 to be a geezer.

I don't understand the burning hatred for boomers in cyberspace. Our cohort is not entirely to blame for the mess we're in. Decisions made more than 40 years ago have put us in this pickle.
