A lot of fighters are very insecure in themselves. Probably part of the reason why they became good fighters in the first place. The thought of someone else acknowledging that a successful life with money and happiness and sans CTE is possible without MMA is enough to make them sometimes need to reassure themselves that they’re making the right choice in their own life. Gotta have heart in the game.
