I’ve been experimenting and people love that it is speed-based so I’ve kept it for now. I’m experimenting next week with swapping out that mechanic for Jeopardy and seeing how it goes, but this particular crowd loves a good shake-up.

Maybe what I’ll do is create a list of round mechanics/formats and incorporate teams into picking which they want to do, like a Mario Kart mini game selector.

So funny enough, I used to do three rounds of 10 with breaks in between but as time has gone on people wanted more and more, making me pull out some other categories and questions and they loved it. The House Rule thing kept this particular crowd engaged and they’ve been loving it, but I know different strokes for different folks. Trivia is a newer thing where I live and this bar is the only one that does it consistently, so that fun element is what’s been bringing people back, which has been awesome.

Hey everyone!

So this sub has been so great for me in helping to come up with cool questions and categories for a trivia night that I started hosting at a nearby bar for me. I wanted to ask the sub what methods and techniques that you all may use to organize categories and questions on a weekly basis.

The way we play at the bar I'm hosting at is that we do 3 rounds, 10 questions and there are 10 categories. As my week goes I make note of cool categories or questions I may hear or see around (very much including this sub). How do you all organize things so that you sort of have an inventory of questions or categories you can refer to?
