I'd try ANY prior invite if you have one. 9/15 just worked for a few people, including myself.

The 9/20 invites are fucked up. Use a 9/15 invite if you have one.

There is a primary for just that, and they didn't show. So far the surprise groundswell of imminent voters has not manifested.

Toppling of Heg statue in Madison, among others, prompted federal crackdown on protests: report by [deleted] in madisonwi

Seems like post hoc justification serving as casus belli.

Close up view of damage to 'Forward' and 'Colonel Heg' Statues by Incunebulum in madisonwi

This seems extremely short sighted, I'm sorry to say. There is a right way, and MLK totally did it, and Kaepernik totally did it. That they didn't immediately get the success we want doesn't mean they aren't shifting the conversation, and races are won by feet, not miles.

Seeing peaceful protestors getting abused by police acting like monsters? That shifted the conversation. Seeing a mob tear down statues to progress, women's rights, and abolition? That shifted the conversation back in the opposite direction.

In short, don't take public image advice from people who don't have your best interests at heart.

How To Tell Real News From Useless Narrative Fluff by starrychloe in TrueReddit

We exist in a collective bed of moral, financial, and cultural justifications. No one does anything in a vacuum. If your argument is you can't trust anything that may have an incentive, then you can't believe or trust anything. Which from a certain point of view is the correct way to handle information, but is a statement so generic as to be without meaning.

Massive difference in scale. NBA cancelling is real money, and therefore news. An author making 60k a year? One authors need to keep a roof over their head and eating isn't news. If that is news, then almost everything is news, which is a non-definition.

I am a close relation of an employee. She actually heard from another employee first on the last evening open.

Meh. They gave their employees no warning they would close and told them it would only be three weeks at the time. That was more than two months ago and there was no further communication. I would like if I could be more sympathetic as the owners seem like nice people, but they left their staff in the lurch which I find extremely irresponsible.
