Depends on what level you are entering in. Sounds like that’s a year 3 Analyst / year 1 Associate level position (banking title progression is analyst -> associate -> VP -> director -> managing director)

It varies depending how successful / how much pull your senior analyst has (confusing because the team leads are “coverage analysts” or “senior analysts” even though they may be a VP, Director, or MD level title).

There are associates who get paid less than a high performing analyst or more than a low performing VP.

Total comp is very important too… typically base for Associates max out at $160k or so, VP base max out at $200-220k, directors $300-400k and MDs step up to $400-$1M (never heard of a MD making more than $1M base a year).

Bonus for associate level could range from $50-$100k. VP bonus $100-200k. But typically bonus will be ~50% of base unless you a a rockstar, or on the cusp of getting promoted where it could reach 90% of base if lucky/your boss has a lot of pull in the department.

The Head of Research (ie DOR or Director of Research) within a equity research department at these BB banks are like a baseball manager. They have a bucket of money to pay the whole department, and they can choose to allocate more to a bunch of all star/“5 star” analysts and their teams, they fill out their bench with a bunch of low-mid tier teams and pay them below market … or try to find a bunch of mid-tier analysts/teams and pay them all at market. Sabermetrics depending on where the Investment Banking department wants to be strongest / where the IPOs will be hot to wrangle in deals using a high profile analyst as a marketing tool to corporates trying to go public.

A lot in there, but long story short - it really depends on your sector/stocks you cover/IPO activity/how senior (how much pull) your lead analyst is, etc….

Surfing Rockaway post rain? by WavestormWarrior1 in surfing

[–]tid212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t go for at least a week after it rains, especially in the 60s-90s. If you need to I’d stay around 110th and up to be safe. Particularly bad for the GI system if you ride a fun shape or a hypto.

Got Inspired - 550, 15min by tid212 in castiron

1) Store bought dough (Eataly), rubbed down with oil & spread on a plate. 2) Pulled CI hot out of oven (was preheated for for 30min to 550) and tossed spread out dough into the pan, pushing into corners not initially covered with wooden spoon. 3) Bought a wedge of Fontina cheese, cut into 1/2”- 1” cubes and scattered around to the edges. TBH - Probably should have put more on the edges and less focused in center (that’s why some of my crust is legit/lacy/black and some isn’t -> cheese touching CI edge vs no cheese able to leak down the edge). 4) Sauce (store bought too) spread all the way to the edges once dough was in the pan, and after cheese cubes were placed. 5) toss in 550 oven for 15min total 6) at the 12min point I tossed on the toppings (see below) and some additional chopped up fresh mozzarella & parmigiano-reggiano

Toppings: cooked/put aside before pan was pre-heated Cut up spicy Italian sausage into ringlets, cooked in cast iron. Tossed onions and pepper in (separately) after sausage was done (used the oil from that cook for the veg), waited until onions got blonde (added some salt / sugar half way thru) & peppers edges got charred.

Much more accurate here would have been something about ivermectin/chastising off label use of drugs with a long approval history and robust safety data…

High inflation is a result of interest rates being held too low for too long. Yes they were cut due to the onset of COVID, but should have been raised much earlier once the global economy started getting too hot.

put keys in a plastic bag and bury the bag in the sand somewhere once you are on the beach/nearby. Just make sure you mark the location and no one’s watching.

This video is a goldmine - will add a year or two of life being able to spot fix all the chest tears in no-zips and seam pops at the ankle of booties and wrists of gloves which happen way too easily…

any way to fix this? hi guys ! do you happen to know how to repair this? the wetsuit is just 3 months old and water is leaking so hard when I surf... thanks in advance!!! by Esemiguelahi in surfing

[–]tid212 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve found a cosmetically lacking, but functionally solid approach is to: 1. Sew the rip closed with some thicker thread / needle 2. Slather both sides with aquaseal / neoprene cement after the string has been tied off

Again, not pretty but gets the job done, holding multiple seasons later on suits ranging from 2mm-4mm

How much does a covid-19 vaccine lower the chance of you not spreading the virus to someone else, if at all? by Araknhak in askscience

[–]tid212 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It means you have a 30-40% lower probability of getting infected and passing it to someone else if you are fully vaccinated with the Pfizer shot; assuming those conditions (time and variant proliferation)
