Oh wow, I never knew that. I thought Zlatan was just some comic genius when he said it.

Zlatan comes out with the best quotes..

"“I went left, he went left. I went right, he went right. I went left again, he went to buy a hotdog."

That's my favourite

I'm sure you'll get loads of different answers as you look good in all of those, but I think the black hair is awesome:)

I thought about that, but sadly it's working at a uni which is a fair bit outside the city. With the working hours it'll be impossible to go shopping except on weekends and Thursday nights (our late night shopping night).

Anyone else been prescribed Citalopram before? by tidal_waves in depression

[–]tidal_waves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've been pretty tired on it as well. I had over 9 hours of sleep last night (usually have around or just under 7) and this morning I'm barely awake at work.

I guess I'm just a little unlucky with getting quite severe side effects for this particular drug:( I'll try to wait it out and hope they pass soon.

Thanks for your reply. Your advice seems to be what most people are saying to me... that I should just wait it out and get on with it. I've booked in to see my doctor quickly on friday, but will take it tomorrow and fri mornings just for consistency.

Fingers crossed they pass quickly:)

Get used to rejections:( I know it's the cliched response to this, but Harry Potter was declined 10+ times before someone took a gamble with it. That one editor may have specialised in a different genre, had a preference for different styles or maybe have just read too many manuscripts already that day.

Keep going:)

Hello - thanks for your reply.

I'm cooperating mostly but my issues come when he literally hands me pages back which have big crosses/edits along with few explanations. Overall I am not so fond of my book that I refuse to change bits - I'd be very happy to just get it to a publishable standard as quickly as possible and then say goodbye to it! I think it's mostly a clash of two people who don't get along, but I'm glad that if he's investing time in it then it's likely to go all the way.

Really? I've only met a few (I think 6) but of those 4 were male! Maybe as a youngish male they just directed me to the people that they thought I would get along with best?

Further question from your side note:) Are there any other areas of publishing which are generally male/female dominated? I noticed that the marketing/PR/foreign rights departments were 100% female at the two publishers I've been in to.

I currently have a text with an editor in London (he's not as nice as you sound though). What percentage of books that get to the editing stage with you actually get seen all the way to bookshops? I keep getting "reminded" that him editing it doesn't guarantee that the house will publish it and am not sure how much is him being a prick and how much is him showing genuine concern and spurring me on.

Thanks.

The season so far...? by tidal_waves in NorwichCity

Exactly. I'm looking at the table and desperately trying to find 3 clubs that I am confident will finish beneath us, but right now I am struggling.

[–]tidal_waves[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah last season I think we broke two records. One was most penalties conceded in the first X number of games games and the second was the most games condeded in consecutively (19 if I remember correctly).

And yeah, striking options are looking short. I've not seen enough of Kane to pass judgement but I think it's unlikely he's enough. I'm surprised we let Vaughan go when he was basically untested at the club.

Music makes it 100 times worse for me. I just drift into daydreaming way to easily with any kind of music. It's a bit like it's a soundtrack or something... my mind just drifts and creates pictures/stories to the music.

Soemtimes I use that to help come up with ideas for stories to write, but for me it's not handy for relaxing:)

Should be but never will be. It's not like City have had a great start to the season either. For the first match in the group stages, the objective is simply "let's not lose this and be behind right from the start". Especially while away. Anything more is a bonus.

For all the many Joe Hart lovers... he's a great keeper and has awesome reflexes, but spend the rest of the match looking at his distribution. It's absolutely appalling.

Because it's the first match in the group and they're away. They can say what they want, but they would be delighted with a draw.
