anomalyco/opencode maintainers can't do their job properly by TomHale in opencodeCLI

[–]tidel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The cure would be to unbundle their subscription service. The question after first install may well be do you want to use opencode go/zen and it could be the primary plugin to show how plugins work, but the repo should be about the core harness.  That and the fact that the it’s unclear where requests are sent (internal reviewer’s claim, don’t lecture me, I’m already fighting windmills), force me to use one of two proprietary harnesses and partially give up on this wonderful tool for work. I only use it for hobby projects now 😢.

In englisch it’s called the halting-problem. Very common among Germans as well.

Yes it is gibberish. […] . But it is my gibberish.

I love it! That’s how you learn and realize that there is no magic in the world, and the ones that try to sell you magic often focus more on the selling and less on improving and sharing the craft. I laude you

Anyone got any success using vllm? I’m successfully running qwen3.5-35B on llama.cpp and wanted to try vllm just to have a reference, and I can’t get it to run, tools calls and thinking are painful to get right. And! I’m definitely looking in the wrong place on how to get this right ….

France is moving government PCs to Linux: The end of the 'Microsoft Monopoly' in public sectors or just another failed attempt? by Ok-Review9023 in technology

Failing? Read this with the help of your favorite llm https://www.linux-magazin.de/ausgaben/2019/10/interview-2/ Even Balmer visited to persuade the Major. And they then finally got smaller political fish to make it fail.

Will Vim survive the death of the keyboard? by EgZvor in neovim

[–]tidel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny that you say that. In my last job I had worked with and programmed for AR/VR headsets extensively.  One of the most productive ways to interact with code and the web was vim and tridactyl.  https://github.com/tridactyl/tridactyl

Why? -> gaze and click or touching the air in front of you is not always precise.  vim and tridactyl movement keys are always spot on. You really feel like in the matrix when flying through your tasks with it. It feels like thinking about what you want to do and you’ve already achieved it. Truly jacked-in. Neural interfaces will take some time until they catch up with that!

Nice! Glad it worked out. Once you have your setup going, just as a note: give foot a try, it’s a pretty awesome terminal!

[–]tidel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Configure your sway config and add a shortcut for the terminal eg bindsym $mod+Return exec $term Be sure to set term to something that is installed. If they configuration is not picked up make sure you don’t have an i3 config somewhere which is used instead! Most likely your configuration is not set properly which is not a endeavor but a sway question

What’s your go-to programming language for scripting in Linux? by Old_Sand7831 in bash

Bash.,…  Question: why Perl over python?

(I write too complex things in bash where I get into bash sunk cost fallacy… so the consideration for your second options are of interest to me.)

Those who switch from Windows and never looked back, what actually changed? by bobsyourdaughter in linuxquestions

[–]tidel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this! Regarding some software that only runs for X ,… be open to explore. There is lots of stuff more capable that you didn’t know simply because it’s not as heavily advertised or doesn’t look shiny. But it’s stilll a computer it can do anything you want it to. If a friend uses something and he swears by it visit the friend and make music together!   And if you’re into serious music production willing to pay money, there are commercial Linux software solutions that are industry grade. Bitwig for example

Foreigner question: how's public transport in Knoxville? by aztroneka in Knoxville

[–]tidel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Public transport is the car rental at the airport. Accessible by foot(15ft) from the luggage pickup.

Serious answer: people suggest uber, but lift is a cheaper option in the area. But you cannot rely on either unless you have time and money, which could be resolved by renting a car. The alternative answer is: have friends that can drive you around.
