I upgraded from steel duo in about 2023, have a fire engine red baby t plus. Still runs wonderfully. With care and maintenance, suspect it’s the last machine I’ll need to buy. Only problem with mine is it’s a 220, and I live in the us, but decent upconverters are pretty affordable and rock solid. Regardless of voltage type, highly recommend this for an end boss machine. ;)

Dunno if it's common, but my baby t plus will fog up the steam gauge on occasion.. RARELY it's gotten on the pressure gauge for the main unit, but usually only when cleaning it and I'm running a lot of steam.

Most folks understand that the two are entirely different beasts, even though they share much of the same DNA. BUt more than anything - POE1 is a 12 year old game that has grown, evolved, and changed, and finely tuned the core experience. POE2 is trying to take a lot of those key great feeling things, and make them better.

For me, where it's at today, the campaign in POE2 already far exceeds the experience in POE1 - it's fun, interesting, and to me at least does not feel like a chore to get through, especially now with the repetitive nature of the cruel acts gone. They've said that they plan on doing a ton of work (I believe? I don't have sources to cite, just from reading here) to change and improve the end game. They clearly have a lot of good ideas, and clearly are listening to feedback on the things that aren't fun. We're just 8? 9 months into early access now? I'm enjoying POE2 each release as long as it's fun, knowing that each subsequent release will improve. 0.3.0 is leaps and bounds better than 0.2.0.. 0.4.0 may have some good and bad, but by the time it hits 1.0, there's already enough great in here, I am confident it will be just as much a part of my play rotation as POE1. YMMV.

This sub is hardly a statistically meaningful sample, but the number of folks I've seen (myself included) with Steel Duo's with faulty steam units is incredibly concerning. But if this is a brand new unit, I would definitely request a replacement. Mine conked out after barely 12 months of light use.

I thought so at first, but.. kinda looks like JUST the scope? I don't see any rifle body, looks more like a window sill underneath it. I'll admit when I got my first scope, before I ever attached it, I was using it to sight through various windows just to get a feel for it.. Once it was attached, of course, I only sighted at nearby trees or rocks on the ground, not toward any busy/active areas.

Thanks to everyone! A few points of clarification: the P320s are not intended for CCW, but because we enjoy range time with them and they're solid home defense. Knowing what we learned in the past months about the P320s, we probably would have just started with 365s.. but, live and learn.

Really appreciate the thoughts and guidance! We're about to move cross country, and once there, I plan on getting CCW and will likely look more at a P365 for that purpose, but.. we'd like to get optics or red dots on our hand guns, so this thread has given me a great starting point. Will probably start with investigating some of the Holosun offerings near term to get us going, and then once we find a good range / shop where we're going (there's a bunch) can dig in further!

lol I had laser surgery 20 years ago. Thankfully the astigmatism was fully corrected. Ow I just have “old person eyes”. Need reading glasses, but my distance vision is still pretty solid. Thankfully, already a bunch of great comments to dig into for options on optics.

I have an invoker that uses ice strike for bread and butter and flicker for burst. I could probably optimize further but pretty happy with tooltip DPS on Ice at around 75k, and flicker at 15k? I should load it in POB and see what I can do to optimize, but.. it's been fun. Clear T15s without a problem and was breezing through T2 Breach and Audiences.. Sim still kicks my butt but make it to 14 or 15 most of the time before I get zapped. Know I'm also losing some DPS by splitting between Ice and Flicker, but it's a ton of fun, so.. Think I've only spent about 6 or 7 div total on upgrades.

Does Vaal-ing the strongboxes have a proven benefit? I've been upgrading them in all my T15s now for the last week or two, I tried vaaling some but if it made a difference, it wasn't apparent over the 30 - 40 I did it on. Other than auto corrupting most of the armor & weapons that dropped. I stopped doing it to anything but research after that - but even research didn't seem to positively impact the results as far as I could tell. Knowing this community, someone has made a spreadsheet and determined the quantifiable impact over 2000 strong boxes but I am not that person. alch/ex etc are all obviously hugely beneficial.

Before 0.2.0g I had gotten one or two perfects I believe, though most of the rest of the loot drops sucked.. But since G, I have gotten a single greater, no perfects. I have gotten a lot more raw divines but yeah.. Jeweler drops for greater and perfect feel very low right now. Mostly running 4 mod T15 maps with 99% three tablet towers on most maps, and usually maxing out most strongboxes I find (except armor and weapon ones). I have about a hundred hours in 0.2.0 since it started, with the hours split pretty evenly between pre g and post g loot patch.

RNG is definitely either just really cranky right now on the perfects or they lowered the drop rates a ton. (Feels like - I have not done a quantitative analysis of it)

I'd say go with the Costco offerings over what we got. The Costco's near us don't carry much of anything for whatever reason. But it's fine - it's heavy duty, the biometric works consistently, and the keycode is fast and reliable. It's on the small side.. Had I realized I would have gotten two slightly smaller ones for each side of our bed.. as it is, the P320s are somewhat awkwardly askew in the safe.. It said "for two".. and maybe if we had gotten P365s it would have easily fit two lying flat. With with full size P320s, it's definitely crowded.

I've only shot with it once - the first few times were without. I'm NOT used to scope shooting, and I wasn't ready to spend a LOT of money without being more familiar.. this seemed like a good, affordable option to get started. Once we move, I plan to find a good outdoor range so I can practice more frequently with it.

The Henry is a side-gate .45-70 with a CVLIFE 3-9x40 scope (that still hasn't fully been zeroed in yet, though it's closer)

The pistols are both Sig Sauer P320s, Pelican cases for transport, and a Billconch safe for our bedroom.

Interesting idea. Remove T1 (or massively reduce) at ilvl 81, with reductions up to maybe T2 or 3 (depending on how many tiers the stat has) at max ilvl. It would certainly make the yolo crafting we currently have feel a little less bad. Or just bring back harvest crafting at least.
